Welcome to the Spotlight! Here are a few questions for you to start the week. The theme is (mostly) desert island, i.e. suppose you were stranded on one... and don't worry about the technology to support your choices, that will be taken care of...

1. What would be your five Desert Island CDs? They don't need to come from your own collection. Why would you choose these particular ones?

2. You might also want some reading material. What would be your five Desert Island books? Why?

3. What else would you like to have with you to occupy your time and your mind?

4. You'll also need food. If you could have only two or three foods and nothing else, what would you choose? Why?

5. If you could have one human companion, who would that be? Why?

This one is not part of the theme:

6. If you came into a large sum of money -- an unexpected inheritance, a winning, whatever, but "set-you-up-for-life" big -- what would be the first four things you would do?

Back later with more. Enjoy your week!

1. Do you know MÃ[emoji]169[/emoji]xico? As a country or as a city?
I know of Mexico as both a country and a city
.

2. Which part exactly? Are you came by business or by vacations?
I have never been to Mexico, but would like to visit one day.

3. Have you ever hearded about MÃ[emoji]169[/emoji]rida Yucatán MÃ[emoji]169[/emoji]xico? It's the place where I live! As you can see, Yucatán is located Chichen Itza (Mayan Ruins), one of the New 7 Wonders of the Modern World!
I have only heard about Merida Yucatan Mexico through your posts on this site. But it is, indeed, lovely and I look forward to reading and learning more about the area. Thank you for offering that link -- I will definitely use it!

4. Can you speak spanish?
I took many years of Spanish in grade school, high school, and college. But, unfortunately, I seem to have forgotten much of what I learned. I can, however, read and understand more than the average person, but speaking it is very difficult for me.

5. Do you have some CD's of spanish music?
I do not presently have any CD's of Spanish music, but I always enjoy listening to it via other media outlets.

6. Have you ever to watched a Mexican movie?
No, I have not. But, that is something I would like to do at some point. Hmm, maybe Netflix has something to offer in that arena...

7. Do you like the Mexican food?
I do enjoy Mexican food. And, quite a bit of it too! I frequently eat at authentic Mexican restaurants and just enjoyed a lot of Mexican food during my trip to Albuquerque, NM. I love rice and beans, tacos, burritos, and the like. But, I only like the authentic food -- I can't do Taco Bell
.

8. Do you like the Tequila? Or another Mexican alcohol?
I do like tequila, but do not drink regularly. And, for good reason! Suffice it to say that I don't hold my liquor well.

9. Have you ever to slept in a hammock?
I have! And, I have to say, it was very comfortable!

10. Have you ever seen the traditional Mexican clothes?
Yes, I have seen the traditional Mexican clothes. I think much of the traditional clothing is very beautiful.

11. Do you know Cancun Mexico?
I know of Cancun, Mexico, but I have never had the opportunity to visit. But, being that the weather is cold and rainy here today, I am daydreaming of such a beautiful, warm place. And, the link, may I say, is assisting me in my daydreaming
.

1. What would be your five Desert Island CDs? They don't need to come from your own collection. Why would you choose these particular ones?
My 5 CD's would be:
a) Something classical. I don't quite know what. But, it would have to be something very calming and relaxing.
b) A Bob Marley CD. I think I'd need some reggae to get me through the long nights alone on the island
!

c) A complete collection by the Grateful Dead. I grew up listening to them (yes, even though I'm only 27!) and would need to have their music with me.
d) Jim Croce's greatest hits. I know, it's hilarious that someone would pick that as one of their 5 CD's, but it's true. Man, I'm embarrassed!
e) Lady Gaga. While I hate to admit it, I love her CD and couldn't live without it
!

2. You might also want some reading material. What would be your five Desert Island books? Why?
a) The Merck Manual of Veterinary Care would be #1. And, that's purely because I am always hungry to learn more about animals, their anatomy, and their health.
b) The Bible. I'm not a particularly religious person, but the Bible is so in depth that I think it would take me an eternity to understand. There are so many different stories and pieces to the Bible and I feel that would help the book remain interesting and thought-provoking throughout my time on the island.
c) Jodi Picoult's book, "My Sister's Keeper." It doesn't get old and I love it. It was the first book of hers that I read and, because of that book, I have become a tremendous fan of hers and read all of her novels.
d) Alice Sebold's book, "The Lovely Bones." And, really, for the same reasons I've listed above.
e) I would bring "Oh! The places you will go." by Dr. Seuss. Anyone who has read it and really thought about what they were reading will understand this choice.

3. What else would you like to have with you to occupy your time and your mind?
I would need to have my laptop. I couldn't live without it. And, I'd also need my cell phone. Those are a given. But, I would also need art materials as I am an artist along with journals and writing utensils so that I could document my experiences and process them both internally and externally. And, of course, I would need my pets! There are so many things I would need -- I tend to get bored easily. But, if nothing else, the above is what I would need just in order to keep me sane.

4. You'll also need food. If you could have only two or three foods and nothing else, what would you choose? Why?
This is easy. I'd pick chocolate (a variety would be best!), milk, and coffee. I love seafood, vegetables, and fruit as well, but I figure my island could supply me with that -- the other things?! I can't live without my chocolate or Starbucks
!

5. If you could have one human companion, who would that be? Why?
I would want a complete stranger -- perhaps someone who comes from a completely different walk of life. I'd want to know that they would not be a danger to me, but I would want someone who could teach me something about another culture. It would be easy to choose someone from my life, but I would want to be with someone who I know nothing about so that it would give me an opportunity to grow and learn as an individual.

This one is not part of the theme:

6. If you came into a large sum of money -- an unexpected inheritance, a winning, whatever, but "set-you-up-for-life" big -- what would be the first four things you would do?
These are the five things I would do with "my" money:
a) I would pay off my debts.
b) I would ensure my immediate family (the exception being that I would include my dear friend who is like a mother to me) had everything that needed to ensure their future (ie. house, vehicle, education, health care, basic living necessities, and retirement money).
c) I would do the same above for myself.
d) I would set money aside for my future children so that they would have all that they need for life (with conditions as I feel, while money is a mainstay and necessity of our society, understanding self-worth and self-empowerment comes from life experience).
e) I would support my local animal shelter and another non-profit I am a part of.

1. Wich one is your favourite genre of music?
I don't really have one particular genre of music that I listen to. I like most music. The only music genre that I don't listen to frequently is rap and hip-hop as I feel it is often vulgar and violent. But, even so, there are some artists that I enjoy and I do occasionally hear something that I like.

2. How many CDs do you have?
Oh my, I have more than I could even begin to count
.

3. Wich one is your favourite singer Male?
This one is tough. I like Jim Croce, James Taylor, Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, and the list could go on ad infinitum.

4. Wich one is your favourite singer Female?
Again, this is difficult. If I was going for my favorite female singer today, it would be Lady Gaga. But, she's certainly not my favorite of all time. I really like Carly Simon, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Madonna, and a host of others. I really could go on and on. Even the names I listed I wouldn't necessarily call my favorite. I'd have to really think about it -- male and female.

5. Have you ever to listened at http://www.rippingtons.com/?
No, I can't say that I have. But, once again, Rigel, I'm going to have to look at the link you provided and do some investigating
.

6. Do you have a CD collection? (I mean for example all CDs from a determinate artist?)
No, I'm more of an equal opportunity CD collector. I am more apt to like specific songs from artists than whole CD's and so I don't necessarily buy every CD an artist comes out with. And, because of that fact, I'm more likely to have "best of" CD's than whole collections.

7. Have you ever to participated in some concert of your favourite artist?
I have never been to a concert thus far in my life. Sad, isn't it?!

8. Do you have any preference to listen a Radio FM station?
I'm a big station flipper. I rarely stay on one radio station for more than a couple of songs. Since my music tastes are so varied, my radio stations have to be too.

9. In your own opinion wich one is better, a CD original from an artist or an MP3 collage of music without nothing of information?
I think both have their place, but, if I had no choice, I'd have to go with the MP3 collage. However, that being said, I have far more CD's than songs on my MP3 player and use my CD's more frequently as well. But, that is just because, for now, that is what is easier for me. I know some people have their iPods attached to their ears at all times, but that's just not me. I like my MP3 player, but it hasn't taken the place of CD's in my mind...yet.

10. Do you play some musical instrument?
I am a fairly accomplished flute player and can easily play the piccolo as well. But, I don't play anything cool such as the guitar, bass, or drums. And, I haven't even played my flute in years. But, it is nice to know that I do have that ability.

1. Who is your favourite Winnie the Pooh character?
I would have to say that my favorite character from Winnie the Pooh is Kanga. As a child, no one could understand why she would be my favorite, but she has been for as long as I can remember. And, as I looked up information on her before posting this, it became apparent why she has always been my favorite character. This comes from the official Winnie the Pooh site: Kanga is Roo's tenderhearted mom and also a motherly figure to the rest of the gang. She is the voice of reason -- a symbol of security and full of mother's intuition. Kanga dotes on Roo but also knows when to give him room to be a kid. Kanga is proud of Roo for demonstrating that he's much wiser than his years. Kanga is symbolic of the person I try to be today. It may not be in a mothering sense as I do not yet have children, but she portrays the family member and friend I aspire to be now and, perhaps, once I have a family of my own.

2. Do you have a favourite gemstone?
My favorite gemstone would have to be turquoise. For one, I love the color. I think it has a certain quality about it that is unique and yet common -- it's a gem anyone can wear. I think it's beautiful. And, the fact that it reminds me of the beauty of Native American culture and the southwestern United States just adds to its allure. All gemstones are pretty, but turquoise is more than that and means more than that to me.

3. What is your favourite all time cartoon?
This is a tough one, but I think I'll have to go with...hmm...The Smurfs? I love them blue little guys. I don't know -- I'm not a cartoon-y person, so this is a difficult question. Of course, I love The Jetsons, The Flintstones, and other older cartoons. And Bugs Bunny, Tom & Jerry, and all of the classics are great too. Oh, wait! Maybe my favorite is Spongebob Squarepants?! Yes, I do love me some Spongebob
! That's my pick.

4. Do you collect anything?
Other than cats
?! To be honest, I'm not really a collector of anything. I never have been much of a collector and that is true, even now, as an adult.

5. What would be your perfect breakfast?
My perfect breakfast would be two eggs over medium with buttermilk pancakes and smoked applewood bacon. Oh, and, of course, real maple syrup. Now, I would rarely even consider eating all of that, but it would be super yummy. I wish I could eat like that (and now I'm hungry, too)!

6. Boiled sweets or chocolate?
I'm going to go with chocolate. I love chocolate
. Like, seriously love chocolate
. Again, it's not something I eat regularly, but I wish I did! And, while we're still on this subject, while I'm certain my answer would remain the same, I had to answer chocolate because I don't know what boiled sweets are. Can someone tell me what they are? You know, for future reference?

7. Do you have any hobbies?
I do have hobbies. The biggest, at present, would have to be art. I'm an artist. I also really enjoy writing and would one day like to write a novel or a book of short stories. I also love music. But, second to art and my animals, I'd have to say that it was horses. I love horseback riding and desperately miss owning my own horses. Hopefully, I will have that opportunity again, but being one with a horse is a truly spiritual feeling. Aside from that, I like shopping, hanging out with friends, decorating, organizing, and other girly stuff. But, most of all, my animals and pets are my hobby (even though they're more family than hobby -- they still take a lot of time, energy, and work). I couldn't live without them!

8. Do you like gardening?
While I think flowers, plants, and trees are beautiful, I am not the gardening type. I like being outdoors and a part of nature, but dirt and insects are not my thing. At all. So, I'd have to say that I am not a fan of gardening (but, I do appreciate the gardening others do!) and try to do as little of it as possible.

Good Morning. How about a food set...

1. Do you cook? Do you like to, or is it a chore?

2. Do you like to cook with someone else? How well do you share your kitchen?

3. What is your favourite thing to prepare?

4. What is your favourite dish that someone else prepares for you? Who?

5. Either of those favourites might be a comfort food, or not. What is your favourite comfort food?

6. What is your favourite celebration food?

7. When people come to my table, I always ask first whether there are any allergies/sensitivities/likes/dislikes I should keep in mind. If you came to my home, what would your answer be?

8. Do you consider yourself adventurous where unfamiliar food is concerned?

9. What is your favourite meal of the day?

1. Do you have a favourite board game?
I'd have to say my favorite true board game would be Monopoly. I used to think that I loved The Game of Life until I played it as an adult and realized how simple and, well, silly the game really is. But, my favorite games are not board games. I'm a big fan of the games Boggle, Yahtzee, and Scattergories. I could play those games over and over and over again -- they never get old whereas Monopoly can become monotonous after a while.

2. Do you have a favourite computer/Wii/Xbox (etc) game?
Since I'm apparently technologically impaired, I don't have the Wii or Xbox. But, I do enjoy computer games. Of all the games I've ever played, I would say that the Sims 2 (never tried the Sims 3) was my favorite. I enjoyed that it had an infinite number of scenarios to play as I tend to get bored quickly. I also like the Zoo Tycoon games and a game that I've had for forever called The Equestrian.

3. If you had to pick out of the 3 CSI's to watch which would it be and why?
I'd definitely go with CSI: Miami. I didn't even have to think about it
. CSI: New York is too dark for me (literally, the colors in the show are too dark, grey, and dingy) and CSI: Las Vegas, while I watched it originally, has just never stuck for me. And, despite the fact that David Caruso's character (and David Caruso in general) irks me to no end, I like their story lines and the acting better than in any of the other CSI shows.

4. Do you drink any fancy coffees or tea's...or just have it normally?
For coffee, my favorite drinks would have to be mochas and vanilla lattes. In the winter, I like them hot, but in the summer, I love them iced. In fact, last night I had Starbucks. My order? A tall decaf iced vanilla latte! So yummy! For teas, I like iced green tea sweetened with honey the best. But, as for hot teas, I love fruit-based teas.

5. You say you like chocolate so is it dark, milk, or white you prefer?
Where chocolate is concerned, really, any will do
. But, if I had to choose, I'd say dark chocolate is my favorite. But, aside from dark chocolate, I prefer chocolates that have fillers or nuts and fruit built in.

1. Wich one is your favourite genre of movies?
I'd have to say that documentaries would be my favorite genre overall. But, in truth, I do enjoy comedies (romantic and otherwise), dramas (especially crime dramas), and some psychological thrillers. I don't, however, like horror films filled with blood and gore. And, action movies and fantasy movies are touch and go with me.

2. Do you collect DVDs or VHS?
I don't collect either DVD's or VHS movies. Once I see a movie, I don't necessarily like to see it again (unless I'm with someone else and it's in the theater). Rather, I have a membership for Netflix and use their service a lot. I especially love their new streaming videos that you can watch immediately right from your computer! But, I do also rent from the library and other video stores. I like movies, I just don't see the point in owning them.

3. Wich one is your favourite actor Male?
I don't have a favorite male actor. I wouldn't consider myself a movie buff by any standard and, therefore, I feel like I don't even know enough about actors to be able to determine what I like or don't like in them. Also, it seems that there are so many "one hit wonders" these days that the acting pool is too large to even determine who I would choose to be my favorite in general or even in any particular genre.

4. Wich one is your favourite cctor Female?
I don't have a favorite female actor. See above for why
.

5. Have you ever to participated in some special event of your favourite artist?
No, I can't say that I have. But, then again, I've also never even been to a concert, so there you go
!

6. Have you ever to saw in live to some artist?
I have met Mel Gibson in person while staying at a hotel in Albuquerque, New Mexico (I say "eh" to that whole encounter
). And, I met Brooke Shields in New York City as a child. Then there are the Broadway stars I met following shows, but no one more famous than that. And, to be honest, I'm not much of a groupie -- I couldn't care less if I met them on the street at this point. I mean, they're just like you and me, right?

7. Do you like to watch the Oscar, Emmys, Grammys Awards?
I do watch the awards shows quite religiously. But, it's a toss up as to why. I don't know that I truly have an opinion on who wins, but I do enjoy watching the hullabaloo that goes on before, during, and after such events and I'm always interested in seeing the latest fashions and fashion faux pas.

8. Have you ever to participated in a role in a theater representation?
I have, actually. I played the part of Maureen in Rent during my senior year of high school. I had never done anything before and I haven't since, but it was a lot of fun and the experience was out of this world. But, alas, I don't have the self-confidence needed in order to pursue parts anymore. And, truth be told, that was why that was my only part -- I doubt myself too much.

9. If you could to meet to some artist wich one would be and say us why!
I think, of everyone, and I'm not that into celebrities, I'd say that I'd like to meet Kristin Chenoweth. She just seems like she'd be a ton of fun. She appears down-to-earth, but has amazing talent. I like that about her.

10. Would you like to live next at some artist?
No, I'm happy living on a nice, quiet suburban street. I don't want the ruckus of a celebrity living nearby, let alone right nextdoor
!

1. Do you cook? Do you like to, or is it a chore?
I can and do cook. And, for the most part, I enjoy cooking, but there are times where I do find it to be a chore. While I like being creative in the kitchen and cooking healthy, good-tasting food, I sometimes resort to heating up prepared foods or ordering out. But, all in all, I do enjoy cooking and like to share that responsibility with my roommate (who is also a good cook).

2. Do you like to cook with someone else? How well do you share your kitchen?
I am more a solitary cooker, but on holidays or special occasions, I do like sharing the kitchen and the responsibilities with others. And, I enjoy being able to assist others in the kitchen (ie. cutting up vegetables or mixing ingredients together). I suppose it just depends on the situation...

3. What is your favourite thing to prepare?
My favorite thing to prepare is salmon, long-grain and wild rice, and asparagus. It's one of my favorite meals and it is one that I can dress up or down depending on the occasion. I also like to make my baked chicken parmigiana and baked chicken cutlets (with cornflake crumbs as opposed to breadcrumbs). Actually, what I really like is getting creative, but I do also like to stay within a safe range -- so far, I've had no complaints and am expanding my repertoire, but you never know and so I try to pay a lot of attention to those that have more experience in the kitchen than me.

4. What is your favourite dish that someone else prepares for you? Who?
My mom makes wine chicken and it is to die for. I don't know how it is prepared (as she refuses to reveal the recipe!) but I do know that it's not the most healthy food. Some of the ingredients are boneless, skinless chicken breasts, eggs, butter, breadcrumbs, and white wine. And, about the only good thing, health-wise, about the dish is that it's baked, but it is my favorite food and one I request every year for my birthday. I think I need to stop talking about it now as I'm already salivating
. But, trust me, it's amazing!

5. Either of those favourites might be a comfort food, or not. What is your favourite comfort food?
My favorite comfort food would have to be, first and foremost, chocolate. I can't even believe how many times in this thread I've mentioned chocolate -- it's insane how much I love it
. But, other comfort foods are, as stated above, the wine chicken, my grandmother's candied sweet potatoes, cream of mushroom soup with a grilled cheese sandwich, tomato soup with a grilled cheese sandwich, macaroni and cheese, my roommate's meatloaf, and, on occasion, ice cream.

6. What is your favourite celebration food?
Again, wine chicken takes the cake (no pun intended). But, don't underestimate the power of an Easter or Christmas ham.

7. When people come to my table, I always ask first whether there are any allergies/sensitivities/likes/dislikes I should keep in mind. If you came to my home, what would your answer be?
I would tell you that I was allergic to pineapple. I have a lot of food preferences, but, overall, I'm fairly easy-going. As far as meat is concerned, I am not one who likes bone-in cuts of meat. But, I do eat most meat without an issue though pork is my least favorite (where dinner is concerned). As for vegetables and sides, I am less picky. But, I do have some spices that I dislike such as curry (under most circumstances -- sometimes it is okay). And, I don't like anything to be over-spiced or too bland. I think meals should taste like what they are meant to be, but should have some seasoning just to enhance their flavors and not mask them.

8. Do you consider yourself adventurous where unfamiliar food is concerned?
I am fairly adventurous, though less so than I used to be. My most recent adventure was while I was in Albuquerque, NM a couple of weeks ago. I had calamari. And, despite having had it in the past, the way it was made was very different from what I was used to. But, I decided to try it and I'm thankful I did as it was absolutely out of this world! In fact, we went back to the same restaurant the next day and we ordered the same appetizer and, again, it was excellent!

9. What is your favourite meal of the day?
I don't have a favorite meal of the day. I often do not eat set meals as I struggle with getting in everything I need (I tend to skip meals a little too frequently). But, if I was hard-pressed to pick one option, I'd have to say dinner as that is the one meal I tend to eat with any regularity.

1. What's your favorite hobby?
My favorite true hobby would have to be art, though horseback riding and my animals (though they're not truly a hobby, but rather my family
) really top the list. I also enjoy music, writing, shopping, hanging out with family and friends, and being outdoors. Actually, I have many other hobbies and interests, but to list them all here would be crazy-making. But, the above are a fair assessment of what I like to do in my spare (and not-so-spare!) time.

2. What's one trait you hate about yourself?
This is difficult as I have a run of thoughts rushing to the forefront of my mind where this question is concerned, but if I had to pick just one trait about myself that I dislike, it would be that I am judgemental. Trust me, there are more, but this is one that I struggle with on a daily basis and that affects others as well as myself.

3. Name 3 thoughts at this exact moment?
My three thoughts would be:
a) My toy fox terrier, Madeline
, is seriously the most adorable and sweet dog ever.

b) My kitten, Finnegan, has the hugest, foofiest tail I have ever seen
!

c) I love my new cell phone
.

4. What do you read in the bathroom?
I try to get in and out as quickly as possible. Therefore, I'm not much of a reader (although, secretly, I do sometimes read the labels on the soap, shampoo, and conditioner bottles).

5. Current worry right now?
Unfortunately, I have more than one. The first being that my friend and I had a falling out. She lied about something very serious and I am quite angry and upset about it. And, to make matters worse, she has recently committed herself to the psychiatric ward at one of the local hospitals. It's a sticky situation and has been weighing heavily on my mind. Another concern is that I have not been feeling well for almost a week. I have been struggling with headaches with auras, nausea, dizziness, confusion, and the like. I know I should call my doctor, at the very least, but I have been resisting doing so thus far. And, those worries are just the tip of the iceberg...

6. High heels or low heels are you wearing right now?
Well, technically, I'm not wearing shoes right now -- just soft, fuzzy socks. But, my usual kicks are ballet flats or mary janes. I don't do high heels except for special occasions and, even then, I try to avoid them at all costs. I typically go for comfort and style. And, thankfully, flats are in right now. I don't even want to think about when stilettos come back into everyday fashion!

7. Favorite place to be on weekends?
This one's easy: I love being at home with the doggies, kitties, and other furry housemates. Oh, and my roommate's not too terrible, either
!

8. Where would you like to go?
Right now, I wish I could go back to New Mexico. I absolutely love it there. The weather is perfect and it's just so, well, beautiful. I have a hard time not being grateful when in Albuquerque and I'd love to even see more of the state and go into Santa Fe and, perhaps, even explore the rest of the southwestern United States. Long-term, I'd like to be able to visit a number of countries: Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and Italy. I'd also like to visit parts of Africa and South America. And, a return to Spain and France has always been on my mind. Really, I'd love to be able to travel around the country and then the world. But, for now, that's not possible though you never know...

9. What's your favourite pop soda?
I'm not much of a soda (pop) drinker, but if I had to choose I'd say Diet Pepsi or Coke. I much prefer water, juices, iced tea, and hot drinks to carbonated beverages.

10. What colour shirt or blouse are you wearing right now?
This is a nice and simple one! I am currently wearing a royal blue, cowl-neck sweater with 3/4 length sleeves.

1. Wich one is the most crazy thing that have you ever do it?
Unfortunately (or fortunately
), I have never really done anything truly crazy. In my opinion, my life has enough drama and insanity in it -- I don't need to do anything else to make it appear that way! But, one day, I would like to go up in a hot air balloon above the mountains in New Mexico. I don't think I'll ever be brave enough for skydiving or bungee jumping, but a little excitement at some point during the future is not completely out of the question.

2. Do you have indoor plants at home?
Nope, no plants for me! I am the antithesis of a person with a "green thumb." I have no ability, whatsoever, to cultivate, care for, or keep plants alive -- indoor or outside. The closest I get to having plants indoor is when someone buys me flowers or the Christmas tree is up. And, let's just say the flowers typically last only a day or two and the Christmas tree is plastic! I'm just not a plant-y person. And, for the sake of plants everywhere, my knowing that is a good thing.

3. If you can travel in time and to meet to some historical person who would be and tell us why?
This is a difficult question because if I were able to travel back in time, my interest would be in finding out more about myself, my family, and our heritage. But, I suppose if I had to pick someone from history that it would be Helen Keller and her teacher, Annie Sullivan. Together, they overcame odds so great and came to be an inspiration to individuals all around the world -- myself included.

4. If you have the money power to move to some part of the world which place would be and why?
If I had the money and could move somewhere in the world, I think I'd be torn between two places -- Canada and Australia. I have been to neither place, but they both have some sort of allure that draws me toward them. I doubt I'll ever have the financial means or ability to move out of the United States, but I would like to visit both Canada and Australia at some point in my life. But, I suppose you never know...perhaps, one day, I will make it to one of my "dream destinations," but, for now, I am happy living here in northeastern Ohio -- my little corner of the world...

5. What is the thing that really annoys you on the persons?
I hesitate to say that there is anything that really aggravates me that others either say, think, or do. I feel that everything that I find frustrating in others has, in some way, been an issue that I've dealt with personally. I guess the phrase "It takes one to know one" comes into play here. Of course, there are things that annoy me about people, but I try to accept others as they are. In time, if they are meant to change, they will. And, if they don't, well, there is no law governing me to continue associating with them
!

6. Are you religious?
I am not religious, per se, but I do consider myself to be a spiritual person. Just recently I am coming to understand organized religion and have started attended church on a regular basis. But, regardless of that, I have always had a sense of spirituality about me that has helped me get through difficult situations in my life. I hope to continue to learn and grow both spiritually and religiously in the future and, perhaps, one day, my answer will be different. But, for now, it is what it is.

7. Favourite salad?
My favorite salad would be your typical, run-of-the-mill caesar salad. I do enjoy cobb salads and other specialty salads, but, to me, nothing compares to a fresh, crisp caesar salad. Yum! I may even make one for myself for lunch
!

8. Favourite pop soda?
I'm not much of a soda (pop) drinker, but if I had to choose I'd say Diet Pepsi or Coke. I much prefer water, juices, iced tea, and hot drinks to carbonated beverages.

9. Choose one would you prefer to watch sunrise or sunset and tell us why?
While both the sunrise and the sunset are beautiful, I think I'd prefer to watch the sunset. And, the reason why is very silly -- I'd rather watch the sunset for the mere fact that I don't like mornings. I'm so not a morning person. I know I have watched the sunrise before, but only because I hadn't yet made it to bed
.

10. Do you have a car? Which type is it?
I do not presently have a car, but, technically, that is because I cannot drive at the moment (due to seizures in my past medical history). My roommate has a cobalt blue Honda CRV, though. And, I love that car! As soon as I get the okay and can purchase a car, that will be my pick.

1. Which do you prefer, electric or gas? Which do you have?
I have gas and I love gas
. I'd write more, but that came out funny enough as it is! No, but really, I do like using gas stoves and ovens as opposed to electric ones. Electric, in my opinion, doesn't cook as evenly as gas does. I have had both in my life and, if I had the option, would never go back to an electric range.

2. Cookbooks: do you like them? What's your favourite one?
You know, cookbooks are something that I have never really gotten into. I remember, as a little girl, reading my mother's Better Homes and Gardens New Cookbook. I used to be enthralled by the pictures and the recipes. But, as an adult, it's not been something that I have sought out. I am more apt to watch television or read the internet in order to get cooking ideas and recipes. And, in fact, that's what I'm doing right now -- Rachael Ray's television show is on in the background.

3. Are you primarily a recipe cook, or do you fly by the seat of your pants?
I'm a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants girl through and through
. But, truthfully, I do look online and watch television to gather ideas and recipes regarding cooking. I like to have a set idea going in, but I also like being able to improvise and to be creative in the kitchen. So, maybe, I'm more in between the two as a cook.

And how about...chocolate:

1. Dark, milk, or light?
I feel like this is the lightning round
. How about this answer: yes, yes, and, um, yes
! Okay, enough joking...my favorite type of chocolate would have to be dark chocolate.

2. Plain, filled, or with nuts or other stuff?
I think my preferences around chocolate depend on my mood. If I'm looking for just a little bit of sweetness to curb a craving, then I typically would go for a small piece of plain, dark chocolate. But, if I'm looking at going all out then I want to go all out! If that's the case, then I can go for nuts, raisins, caramel, cream, fruit-filled, or anything else that goes with the type of chocolate I'm eating. And, if available, why not mix it all in together? I really do love my chocolate
.

3. Favourite brand?
I don't really have a favorite brand of chocolate, but aside from a quick Hershey's bar or equivalent, I prefer the higher quality chocolates.

4. Favourite chocolate recipe?
Baking is not my talent and, therefore, I don't have a tremendous amount of experience with recipes involving baking. However, I am quite talented at reading the labels on the back of packages and Betty Crocker might just be my hero
. In fact, I have a double fudge chocolate cake in the oven right now. It won't be ready for another 1/2 hour and then it has to cool and be frosted, but I am already finding myself lulled by the smell of chocolate in the house. Let's say it all together now: ahh...mmm...ahh.

5. Do you have any traditions/rituals that revolve around chocolate?
You know, come to think of it, I don't have any traditions or rituals revolving around chocolate. Well, other than the fact that I like to eat it! But, no, I don't have anything particular that I do either individually or as part of a group surrounding chocolate. However, I think I may just have to come up with something!
