He PURRED!!!!!

I have had Tex as a long term foster for almost a year now. He moos, he grunts, he trills... but I have never heard him purr --- until yesterday!

Sometimes when you hold him he seems to be vibrating a little bit but you can't hear anything... can't really even feel it in his throat.

But yesterday I was sitting at the dining table and Tex was sitting in this box I keep on there for him. I was upset about something and on the phone.... I reached over to pet him while I was talking and ...... prrrrrrrrrrr! I could hear this... I thought maybe one of the OTHER cats was under the table... but no... it was TEX! I touched his throat and sure enough... he had a little motor boat going!

Personally, I think he was trying to comfort me b/c I was so upset. I'd like to think so, anyway.

Aww, that's really sweet! I think all cats do have that extra sensing ability, even if only once in a great while. And hey, I bet it really DID make you feel better, too!

What a sweet boy. he knew you needed to hear a happy purr.

Oh that's just wonderful! How thrilling to know he's gotten to the point where he will share his purr with you. I bet it WAS to comfort you that he decided it was time, Tex is a sweet boy.

He's an eccentric little fellow. He's not openly affectionate, but will give me eye "love blinkies" and sleeps on or next to me. He's learned that being cuddled is not a bad thing - mostly he likes it when Doug (BF) cuddles him. He's quite the unintentional clown - he makes me laugh out loud with his playing antics.
