Does anyone have any in depth answers about ascites Fluid in my cats belly all of a sudden and yet with all the tests no one can tell me why my cat died within 2 weeks when being happy and fine before that. I did post on that but I'm just curious if there is anyone here who can give me more in depth info why a vet who did: Blood tests, fluid analysis from the abdomen, xrays/ ultrasound and still 4 days after I buried my cat there is no definitive answer. Blood tests were not perfect but still vet could not tell me. I have had cats my whole life and never have seen this. Cat never went outside. No fever --ALT was low--HCT>LOW MCV>LOW Neutrophils seg> HIGH . Lymphocytes > LOW . Monocytes HIGH Absolute Lymphocytes>LOW Absolute Reticulocyte > very high off chart. Nothing showed up in fluid analysis or ultrasound. I know she is gone but it still boggles my mind why these tests showed not a cause? 13 year old cat. With all the technology I'm amazed!!

I found the text in this book spot on, but the illustrations aren't helpful at all. Good over all book

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

This scoop was a freebie with some clumping litter I bought last year, and I like it so much that I've bought a second one. It's perfect for fine clumping litter, which it sifts very thoroughly....

When humans get Ascites, it is most often liver function related. I get it several times a year and have to have it drained. It comes on rapidly and my doc says if not treated promptly, it is life threatening.
Sorry about your kitty.

Are you in the United States? I know veterinary expertise varies from country to country. And the tools available to the vets also varies.
I can totally understand how you feel. I would say that without an autopsy (I forget the medical term that applys to cats) it will be very hard to tell.
I hope you can come to a place of peace regarding this. It will take some time. 13 is about the normal life span for a cat.
Your kitties age certainly reflectes the excellent care she received.
God bless.
