Well I just saw Iron Man 2 last night. It was a really good sequel, as far as sequels go. But I didn't think Don Cheadle was the right person to play Rhodey. I thought Terrence Howard did a much better job in the first one. Robert Downey jr. was still perfect for the role of Tony Stark/Iron Man. He provided quite a bit of comic relief just like the first one but he also did the more serious scenes very well. And with Mickey Rourke and Samuel L. Jackson joining the cast, how can you go wrong?

Mickey Rourke plays the part of Ivan Vanko, son of Anton Vanko, a great scientist who worked with Tony Stark's father, Howard, until Howard removed him from their final project. He becomes the villain of the movie and tries to kill Tony Stark as revenge for what Howard did to his father. He becomes Whiplash, for those of you familiar with the comics. If you aren't familiar with the comics, Whiplash carries 2 whips with a very powerful electric charge running through them.

Samuel L. Jackson plays the character Nick Fury. He is the leader of a group called S.H.E.I.L.D. He helps Tony Stark defeat Whiplash by making him finish his father's research.

It's a very well done movie with a great balance of action and comedy. And it follows the comics, more or less. It has a great cast and is one of the better sequels you will see. If you liked the first Iron Man, you will like this one just as much.

I really enjoyed it. At the beginning I thought it was kind of slow to get into but then it got really interesting and I LOVED the action scene at the end, and I don't typically enjoy action scenes..

SPOILER
I was a little confused about how he found the substitute for palladium- I know his father played a part, but how did the little round earth object in his architecture model serve as a hint for Tony to discover the new element???

At the center of that model was the nucleus and he enlarged that so everything else would fit inside it and based on the position of everything he discovered that it was a new element. How he synthesized it is what I'd like to know. But I'll leave that to the quantum physicists

Ohhh that makes sense!! So that's why there were atoms all around him in the air...
I thought the whole "technology can solve everything" aspect was wayy over the top and didn't particularly like that part, I don't particularly get impressed with seeing or reading about potential technology as imagined by a movie director or writer in general....just not my taste. I mean it's cool if it's like in a superhero theme cuz then anything is believable..but when they start to get into his whole office being pimped out with cool gadgets like 3d hollogram objects thats when I start to think they're going over the top.
But otherwise I enjoyed the movie a lot.

I saw it last night, and while I liked it, I thought it was seriously lacking in action until the last 30 minutes.
I saw it as more of a vehicle to an upcoming Avengers title.

Didn't I hear Bill O'Reilly makes a cameo appearance in it? I think I heard someone saying that.

All of these movies: Hulk, both Iron Man movies, Thor, and Captain America are all vehicles leading up to the Avengers movie.

I liked it, and thought it was better than the first. For those who haven't seen it stick around until after the credits for another movie teaser.

Yes, Bill O'Reilly makes a cameo in the movie of him on his tv show.

I must say, I was really surprised I liked the first one. I've seen Robert Downy Jr. popping up everywhere lately (or so it seems) and he's a much better actor than I thought (remembered?) he was.

We don't "do" theaters, so we'll have to wait until it's released on DVD.... but I'm looking forward to it.
Thanks for the review! (And I didn't mind the spoilers.
).

Well I try not to give too much away

But it's hard to write a good review without a little bit of the story.

I loved the first one and am looking forward to this one. RD Jr is a hottie and one of my favorite actors!
