I have debated about posting this all day since I wasn't sure what to say. But, I'm feeling both hopeless and powerless and, at this point, this is all I feel I can do.

Please, if you pray or are willing to offer vibes, positive thoughts, or healing energy, my friend is in desperate need. Last night (it may have been in the middle of the night or this morning -- the information I have is scattered at best), my friend's father attempted to take his own life. He is a known addict, although I thought she had told me he was in recovery, and attempted suicide by overdosing on drugs and then turning a gun on himself. He tried to shoot himself in the heart. At this time, I don't know how much aim he had, but I do know that when he tried to take his life, his girlfriend was in the home and she was able to call for help. Once at the hospital, he was listed in critical condition. As of this evening, I know he has gone into cardiac arrest at least once and remains critical. My friend, who has had her issues with her father -- some serious, is in obvious pain. She texted me a while ago and told me that things were "not good," but I've heard nothing since. Needless to say, this is a dire situation...on many levels...
My friend is very fragile emotionally and I'm concerned about her well-being. And, of course, I am hoping that her father makes it through this ordeal and can go on to receive help for his many issues. Emotionally, this is very hard for me too as I feel helpless. And, it doesn't help that this strikes a very familiar chord for me in my life. But, for now, all I can do is pray. And, if anyone else is able or willing to offer vibes or a healing thought, it would be most appreciated.
