Unfortunately, I do know that racism exists here in Canada and that many people try to hide it by spouting platitudes. They aren't really fooling anyone but themselves.
I personally believe (my opinion only of course) that there are many who do not like Obama because he is black and it has nothing whatsoever to do with his politics. I also believe many of those people will be adamant that it's his politics they don't like - honestly!

It's good to know that some people aren't fooled by anyone.
I have friends who voted for Obama. They now dislike what he's doing. I guess all that blackness just caught up to them. I also know a person who can't stand him cause he's black and has no problem saying so.
Then there's those like myself who didn't like him in the first place. I also don't like (I'm using really kind language here) Pelosi or Reid and a host of others. It's interesting to learn that my issues with all these people are for different reasons, Pelosi and Reid for their politics and Obama cause he's black. Who knew?

I did notice you referred to your friend as black. In a perfect world you wouldn't have to make that distinction. I mean, afterall...a friend is a friend.

But I understand where you're coming from. If you don't like Obama you're a racist. If you want free health care you're lazy and want everything handed to you. If you are against abortion you're some kind of religious nut. If you think schools should be taught in english you're against immigration. Now people can say they have other reasons for having these beliefs, but fortunately we all know better.
On the other hand, we all know that black people are never racist towards whites. So, we can always take what they say at face value.
