RIP Little Mommy Casey

One of the strays we took in this past summer recently had kittens. Seeing as she wasn't completely tame/domesticated, she wasn't indoors or would barely let us pet/hold her. She moved her kittens and she's been taking care of them and just last night we were feeding her and petting her before she went back to them for the night.

Early today she was hit on the road [she never ever went across the road so we don't know why she did] and we gave her a nice burial. I am really a wreck but she is in a better place. We found the kittens and are going to take care of them. They're only 2 weeks old. Please pray for them and for their poor little mommy who is no longer with us.

Oh no, no. I am so sorry. Such a tragic thing.

God bless you all for taking such care of her and now her babies. My daughter is raising little orphans. She got them when they were only 2 days old.

They are now 4 weeks and are doing wonderful. Please look in the kitten thread as there are posts about these babies.

Thank goodness she had these kittens near you. Fate works in mysterious ways. You have great hearts to help these little ones.

The little one passed away in my arms a few minutes ago. It started crying loudly [after being the quiet one]. So I picked it up and it was colder compared the bigger one so i wrapped it in a smal towel and held it against me to keep warm, and it's breathing started slowing and I rubbed it a bit to keep it warm and then it stopped breathing and went limp. I tried to get it breathing again but it would only gasp one or two times. I called the vet and they said there was nothing I could do at this point and it would pass after a couple more breaths - to just keep it warm and make it as comfortable as I could. I am so sad. I lost mommy and one baby in 2 days :[ Please pray for the other baby.

My heart truly goes out to you. We had been working with a cat for 6 months and I finally caught her and she was such a sweet indoor cat but she got out one day and got hit in the high way as well. It's a terrible feeling and she is in a much better place.

God Bless your Heart and Soul for taking those babies in, God has a special place for you! =)

Play happily over the Bridge, Mama Casey and babies. So, I gather that a second little one has crossed over....at least the kittens have their meowmmy over on the other side waiting for them, where they are getting scritches & pets from the angels. How many kittens are still in your care? I am sending prayers and vibes out for you all
