Getting a nasty storm

Here in Lockport, we ae in for a rough night. Nasty weather coming over Lake Ontario and Lake Erie.

I hate storms....my mother gave me her fear of storms.

That might be a remnent from ours fast moving storm system from last night in Wisconsin.
There was a tornado touchdown about 30 miles south but minimal damage.
Lots of lightening though.

I love me a good storm. Thunder and lightning make me happy And it also makes me feel relaxed and calm. Crazyness. When I was a kid though, I used to think my floor in my room was electrified when it was storming

It's storming pretty bad here too. It's been storming since like 6pm.

Well, we made it through pretty well. A couple of close strikes.

When I was a kid, my mother would make me sit on the floor with her while she tried to read me a story during storms. She would always jump at every lightening strike and say "oh that was a close one". Well.....she passed on her fears to me.

So now, when there is a storm in the night, I get up and get dressed in case I have to run for it and gather up all my kitties!

I love t-storms. When my son was still at home, he and I would sit by the window (I know, you're not supposed to do that) and watch the lightning streak across the sky. He still does that.....he called me the other night to tell me about the storm they were having where he lives now (I know...you're not supposed to do that either, but we do it when there's a good storm outside). And, thank goodness, his children aren't afraid of t-storms either. He and my grandson will sometimes sit in their sun room to watch the lightning show.

I don't like it, though, when the sky gets really funky-looking. I am afraid of tornadoes coming through because I'm leery of getting all the cats to the basement quickly.

Our weather was pretty bad last night as well. I live at the western tip of Lake Ontario. The storms seemed to circle around most of the evening with lots of rain. This morning is bright and sunny. I like a good storm as well and like to watch it. The best place is in a cottage with a tin roof.
