Something bad happened this morning....
I'll start from the beginning...As many of you may or may not know, I am fostering a pregnant cat named Zoe- she's very sweet, and about to explode any day now. Anyway, she's in our office room, and we usually keep the window open a crack with a screen to get some fresh air in and draft out the smell of the litterbox.
Anyway, there's a black cat that's been hanging around our house for about a year, it always eats my own cats outdoor food in the summer, but it's VERY scared of people.
Well, when I walked in this morning to check on her, I found that the screen was off, Zoe's food dish was empty(I filled it up last night, and she never eats THAT much in one night), and her water dish was empty(also just filled). All the bedding from her nest was pulled out across the floor, and there was Zoe, lying on the floor, purring away! My best guess is that Mr Black Cat broke in and ate all of her food- I always thought he belonged to someone on our street, but could a cat really belong to anyone if they werethat desperate for food?
Zoe seemed perfectly happy, and I didn't hear anything last night, so I don't know what happened- I never figured anything would happen with the window- I mean her belly is WAY to big to fit out the window, but I never thought of any other cat coming in!
So I think I'm going to ask the shelter if we can borrow a trap and bring this guy in.
Sooo, that's my long story! I'm so glad it was nothing worse than it was, and let me tell you, that window is SHUT now!!!
