Hello from Pennsylvania

Hi everyone. I am a new pet owner. I recently adopted a 9 year old female calico cat from the local Humane Society. I've never had a cat before so I wanted one that was an adult and, hopefully, still full of fun and energy but not a crazy cat ready to destroy my house. Apparently, I lucked out big time because Sassy is a gem. She is just what I wanted. She is a mellow and loving lap cat who is always ready to play too. She doesn't jump on the table or the counters and, after just three unsuccessful tries to sleep in my bed, sleeps through the night in her own bed. She just had her post-adoption check-up and is 100% healthy. I am SO glad I decided to adopt her!

But why not let her sleep with you? This is an important part of cat security and bonding!

Thank You for adopting an older cat!!! They are so so special and mellow. I inherited an older cat, Bella, and I adore her!!! Bella makes a great little furry heater in bed with me on those cold nights and her purrs are like a lullabye

Congratulations on your new kitty. And, a HUGE thank you in adopting an older shelter cat. All cats are unique and special, but I truly believe that the older kitties appreciate being adopted and "saved." It sounds as though Sassy is already settling in and lapping up her newfound life of love and "luxury."
