Day before yesterday we noticed that he had some diarrhea and was vomiting. I didn't think much of it, because sometimes he does that.

Well it continued yesterday, so I called his vet. He has an appointment today.

For two days he just wasn't himself. Usually he'll meet me by my bedroom door in the morning waiting to be fed. He hadn't.

This morning, he met me a little ways away from my bedroom door and did what he normally does. Tries to scratch the computer desk. (He's declawed) I immediately picked him up and gave him a hug, because he hadn't done that in 2 days. All he's wanted to do is sleep. He went outside yesterday for a little bit. To get some fresh air.

Today... He finally got to eat WITHOUT throwing up and having diarrhea.

I'm still bringing him in though.

Have any idea what it might be? We haven't changed his food.

It could be anything, but it's a good thing you're taking him in eventho he seems to be doing better. Since he's had diarrhea, make sure they do a fecal test on him to rule out any parasites. With the way allergies have been so bad everywhere, it could be that he was having some airborne allergy reaction and just felt a little under the weather, or it could be something else entirely. Keep us posted on your trip to the vet.

Well... The vet believes that he walked through pesticides that our landlord sprayed by our apartment complex. Then licked his paws, poisoning himself.

They looked at his poo, no signs of parasites.

We have to watch him for signs of kidney failure.

Yes.

What ticks me off is that the landlord didn't tell us that they were going to do it until hours AFTER they did it.

We have a small deck that we're going to be keeping him on from now on. He's NOT allowed on the grass anymore!

Some landlord you have there. I think there are laws requiring notification of pesticide application before the fact. At least here there are.

Many vibes for your Buddy, from my Buddy and me that he comes through this without any problems.

Thank you!

He hasn't been drinking a lot of water that he had been before that made the vet think that he may be having kidney failure. Guess that's one of the signs. I told her that I thought it was from him not being able to drink hardly anything for 2 days.

Here it is law that there must be signs put on the effected area(s) and that if you live in a rental property the landlord must advise ahead of time. This is to protect everyone. Can you imagine a baby crawling around on the grass and then putting fingers in their mouth.
?
For Buddy....

Is he still able to eat and keep it down? I think I'd make him a permanent inside only kitty. If he goes outside, it would be in a cage so I'd know for sure he'd not get in the grass.

Yes. He's still able to eat and drink and keep it down.

We have him on a leash, and we have a patio deck that he can go on that is away from the grass. That's where he's going ONLY from now on.
