I am just curious because I know there are several members on here who read ebooks.
I get ebooks from diesel-ebooks.com
They are so expensive though. And don't sue me for saying this but I was searching for torrents earlier, I was that desperate
I haven't searched for torrents in a loooong time, maybe like 5 or 6 years, because I got viruses from torrents..But I was surprised to see now even torrents have a membership fee
I guess things have changed...

I just bought Charlaine Harris' new book that came out today, and it was $25 for the ebook, and I will be finished by tomorrow..I think I'll go to the thrift stores tomorrow and look for things to read there because I can't afford to be spending so much on books, especially since my classes are over and I will be reading a lot more now.

Nuh uh...might give me away!
Since I bought a Kindle, I get all mine from Amazon. I'm a little upset about the current situation with Amazon vs. The Big 5 (publishers), though. Three of my favorite authors released new books in their series last week, and I can't get any of them on the Kindle because of the negotiations. (If you don't know about the situation, you can google it and find most authors are on the side of the publishing companies, and most Kindle users are just totally uspet.)

But, I think you can order Kindle books and read them on your PC (if you like the prices better): http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.htm...cId=1000426311

There's Books on Board too. I've gotten books from there that don't have DRM protection, so I can convert them and put them on my Kindle.

Oh, and Barnes and Nobles also has a PC reader for their ebooks.

I have the nook, so I get all mine from B&N. They even have some free ones on there, and a lot of classic books are 99 cents. So I've read Pride & Prejudice, Little Women, and am about to start Wuthering Heights
I go through the Stephen King books entirely too quickly!

I have a Sony Reader. So far I bought one new book from them. The rest I have gotten from Google books. They let you download free books that are in the public domain.

I find that I really enjoy reading the classics that I missed when I was younger.

You can also search e-bay for books. There are sellers that have them on CD. Most of these were probably downloaded from free sites. I've looked at them but it is easier to do it myself.

Thanks for the replies- I actually found that B&N was cheaper...
I have several reader apps on my ipod touch, B&N, ereader, kindle...
I don't really like to read the classics for fun though, unless I'm reallllly realllllllllly bored....
I love Little Women though!!! I am going to read that again next because it came free with the b&n reader. It's one of the best books ever.

Are you talking about Grave Secret? That was a good one. I finished it about a week or so ago.

I don't have a Kindle or anything else....I still just hit the library from time to time.

Some libraries have it set up where you can get ebooks through them. Mine doesn't (they're still crawling into the 20th century, let alone the 21st), so I'm not exactly sure how it works. You could check you library system's website to see if they have anything set up for that.

My library doesn't even have all the books I need
Every time I've tried finding a book through the online catalog, it's not there, and not that it's checked out they simply don't carry it. I usually read series and they may have one or two of the later books that have come out but never the first ones..
And I like to start at the beginning.

Winchester- I'm talking about Dead In the Family it's a new book from the Sookie series!! It was good although I feel like Charlaine Harris' style has gotten overly simple the more she writes....I get a feeling like she's not really trying anymore, probably because of all the royalties she gets from True Blood

I have a Nook and I buy my ebooks from Barnes and Noble, for obvious reasons.
I also get plenty of (legit) free ebooks from places like the Baen Free Library, Project Gutenberg, Suvudu, etc.
