Question of the Day: Tues. May 4 2010

Good morning everyone

Todays question is:

Do you have someone in your life that can make you smile no matter how bad/upset/angry/depressed/etc. you are feeling?

Oh yeah--my best friend Kim. We've been friends for 40 years; she's like a sister to me.

Yep, I have a cousin who does that everytime I talk to her. The amazing thing is she has had some hard knocks with her children and her own health issues. Yet, she is always jolly.

Usually if I'm upset- there is nothing and no one that can make me smile..
I just tell people to leave me alone and spend some time on my computer with headphones on trying to forget everything.

Honestly I would have to say it is my DH. He is always able to show me the way up out of a dark hole. Also seeing my grandchildren. When I was working in a mall I would go to the petstore to see the kittens.

Besides Bella always cheering me up and giving me a reason to get out of bed in the mornings; it would have to be my buddy (Turtle's daddy) Philip. I can tell him exactly how I feel and he never judges me. He makes me laugh when I feel like crap and lifts my spirits when I am down on myself.

I have three of those someones

My best friend, Angelo, my buddy, Kevin, and my boyfriend, Jake.

I think I'm going to start singing "Its Raining Men" now....

Even though I am super close to my sister Rachel it is my sister Tracy who can get me to laugh no matter how upset I am. (My Mom can use this technique also and it works) All she has to do is make one of her funny faces or mimic my pouty upset face and I can't help but crack up. She has a Jim Carrey face that can mould into almost anything...its hysterical. I also know its her way of getting me to not take things so seriously, but in a nice non-confrontational way. Which I appreciate! Nothing worse than being peeved and someone getting into your face telling you to knock it off!

I'm blessed enough to have several......

One can send me a simple txt that will warm me up
Another can make me have a giggle
Another can help me see that its not all bad, and crack a smile.

Yes sometimes it takes a little more effort than others, but for the most part, yah they can at least make me smile for a moment

Probably my youngest daughter. We think alike and know what will make the other one laugh.

Just her texts to me or a phone call about something funny that happened to her. Like the time she was transporting one of her goats to the vet and it vomited in the back seat of her truck. (he is fine now).

Sometimes I don't want to answer the phone when I see it's her!!

I'm usually not one to stay in a bad/sad mood for long. It doesn't really accomplish anything, so why do it? My DH can often get me to laugh - though sometimes he tries too hard and is just not funny at all. When that happens he declares I have no sense of humor. To which I taunt him at being unfunny - so that is amusing in the end.
I have some online friends who are pretty comical, too. One always says some rather outlandish stuff, sometimes made worse by him using the wrong word in English, that would be hard for anyone not to crack up at.

My grandma. Always. She cracks me up no matter what the situation

Yes - A friend from high school I talk to a few times a month. I like the frequency too. Not excessive/clingy, and not too rare (Just right)

My best friend Yvonne, we are always there for each other, she is the one I posted about who recently lost her cat, she would do anything for me and vice versa and always has the right advice, makes me smile, laugh and just is the best friend anyone could have. x
