I was gone for the weekend and my cat got out. My grandmother didn't tell me because he came back an hour later. She hadn't noticed that he's been laying around and not eating until recently so I'm not sure how long he has been avoiding food. I read that this is a very urgent matter as he could stop drinking water and his organs could shut down. I'm going to try to call the vet tomorrow but I'm really worried that something might happen to him until then. We have been forcing him to take Nutri-cal but he's really greasy looking. He's only 5 years old and hasn't been sick like this before. Any suggestions on what I can do? I'm a nervous wreck and I have finals all week so I can't be around him as much as I would like.

I found the text in this book spot on, but the illustrations aren't helpful at all. Good over all book

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

This scoop was a freebie with some clumping litter I bought last year, and I like it so much that I've bought a second one. It's perfect for fine clumping litter, which it sifts very thoroughly....

You are right to get into the vet asap. He could have picked something up from another cat. Does he have all his shots? That is very important even if you have an indoor kitty as you now have found out.
Keep trying to feed and get liquid into him. Mix up some wet catfood, warm it. Mix it with some water and use a syringe to try to get nourishment into him. Cats systems shut down within a couple of days without food.
You definately have to get him to the vet today no matter what your schedule.
Please keep us informed.

You're doing the right thing by getting him to the vet. What did the vet say?

What day was he out?
It's possible he picked up something from another cat, but from your description, I'd be really afraid of some sort of poisoning.
