I was gonna have the title be "I have a business idea" but besides being inaccurate, it would also get this thread started on the wrong foot and make people think the focus is money money money. Not so. Repeat- What I'm about to say is not truly a business idea, it's more of a "product idea" - Something I want to see on the market whether I'm involved in it or not.

Here's the product - A "domestic violence" voice-recording phone

An easy-to-use phone that could digitally record threatening phone calls to provide as proof to police, courts, etc. Have others in the past tried to get this manufactured only to be shot down by "criminal rights" types? Edit: Oh darn. I think this is in the wrong section

They already make a device like that. Last time I used one, it had a small mic with a suction cup that you put on the back of the phone. Then, it plugs into a tape recorder. The legal thing with that is that the other party must be informed of the recording or it is illegal to record.

Not true: it depends on the state you live in. It's perfectly legal for me to do that in Indiana, as long as I'm involved in the conversation.
