So, what foods did you like that you may not eat anymore?

I loved reading all the things you had when you were younger.

So, what foods/drinks did you have and liked when you were younger?

Of course, there are TV dinners. How could you put that aluminum in the microwave?

Sweet alcoholic drinks that no one knows how to make anymore. Know how to make a grasshopper?

Recipes that don't call for artificial sweetners.

Regular gum. With sugar guaranteed to give your dentist full employment.

Diet sodas with carbohydrates. Wait! Carbohydrates in general!

Nice steak when you could afford it

flouridated strawberry milk from the school cafeteria

chicken fricassee was something we got in kindergarden that I never, ever eat anymore, and haven't heard of it since the kindergarden cafeteria food..
I can't think of anything else- I pretty much eat the same stuff now as I did as a kid, I had a stage when I was a teenager where all I ate was junk food, but now I've gone back to home made stuff just like my mom made me when I was a kid because I realize in the end it's so much healthier...

I used to love liver when I was a kid, my grandma would always make it with a ton of fried onions...then I found it was actually a liver
I'm sure if I ate it today it would be delicious, but I just can't get passed the thought of it being a liver

Can't eat, won't eat or just not available anymore?

Can't - dairy - lactose intolerant in my middle age,

Won't - the Russian Jewish foods of my youth- such as chopped liver and gefilte fish because NO ONE makes them like my grandmother.
Rest in Peace, Bubbie. Baloney lunch meat-- OD'd on it as a kid ... can't even LOOK at the stuff.

Not available - Amy Joy Donuts, Peppy's Hamburgers... I know there must be others but I am drawing a blank.

You haven't tasted my chopped liver. It's to die for.

I'm with you! I loved it as a kid and even your adult, but it will never touch my lips again!

Well I don't do the meat thing anymore, but I used to love a good chicken nugget!!
Balogna sandwiches too, mmmmmm! All that horrid processed goodness...

I used to eat liver too at my dad's house when I was young, but only if my dad called it 'chicken liver'. If he called it liver, I wouldn't touch it.

Gosh, nothing bothered my stomach when I was a kid, I could eat heavy stuff like ice cream and cheesecake, these days I can only look at it..

My mom had a rule that she didn't cook on Fridays, and I remember wanting to eat McDonalds way too often on Fridays... Ick.

Oh and I used to down almost a 2 liter of Pepsi a day!! Then I turned 15 or so and thought OK, enough sugar, let's switch to diet. Mom was reluctant, but now we both can't stand sugar sodas.

I used to be able to eat greasy foods as a kid. All the common home made southern foods. And I loved chicken cooked/drenched in garlic butter.

BUT I used to get stomach aches even as a kid and had the gallstone symptoms as early as 12. I can't eat that sort of stuff now because it causes a lot of pain and I can't digest it.

I remember drinking koolaid a little when I was around 4 years old. My parents said I'd eat bananas up until age 2. Otherwise I was a picky kid and eat more now than I did (there was a lot of stuff my mother never made).

I used to like shrimp. Now I hate having to clean them and cook them for my husband. I can not stand the taste now.

There's a lot of different foods I used to love when I was growing up. I think I must have over done it because I can't even think about eating those things anymore.

A thick, juicy steak. I love it but it flares up my colitis something awful.

Friendly's Restaurants. They had the best ice cream and sundaes. There aren't any in Cincinnati anymore. My favorites were the Reese's Pieces Sundae and the Reese's Cup Sundae.

I'm lactose intolerant too.

I never liked peanut butter, then for no apparent reason I could not get enough of it for awhile. Then just as quickly as the appetite for it came up, I could no longer stand it. The same thing with yogurt, ramen noodles, Cheerios, and several other things. My current favorite thing is lemonade.

I'll eat it in candy, but that has a different texture to it. Other than that I have never been able to eat it, not even as a child, and have this strange issue with getting it on me - I MUST scrub it off right away.

I know I was probably one of very few people that never ate peanut butter and jelly sandwiches as a child. (can't stand jelly or it on me, either.)

Soda. And lots of it. We also had a busy deep fryer in the house, that is also a big no no in my adult life. Great memories of my childhood!

I used to eat McDonald's french fries ALL the time. One summer, I ate a supersize order nearly every weekday when I'd work with my dad. Ughh I hate McD's now.

Hehe - being from the UK I'm not sure I know what some of the foods are that you are talking about!

But when I was a kid I loved black pudding ( a traditional English dish) - but when I found out it was made from blood and fat it grossed me out and I haven't been able to look at it since

Ok, I'm apologizing ahead of time for this...cow tongue sandwiches. I would eat it with my mom. I really liked it, until she told me what it was!!! OMG-NEVER AGAIN.
