My cat had surgery on Friday and the vet taped his foot so Jack wouldn't scratch at his stitches (on his trunk). It took a day and a half but Jack managed to get the tape off, and our two attempts at taping didn't last long. How tight should it be?

I found the text in this book spot on, but the illustrations aren't helpful at all. Good over all book

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

This scoop was a freebie with some clumping litter I bought last year, and I like it so much that I've bought a second one. It's perfect for fine clumping litter, which it sifts very thoroughly....

When Bijou had surgery on his upper leg and pulled the stitches out 3 times in 2 days, I resorted to buying baby sleepers for him and just cut out a place for his tail and bum. It worked beautifully. He didn't even get them wet when he went to the litter box.

Hard to describe how tight - snugish, but not too snug, nor too loose. Better bet is Vet Wrap - it won't gunk up the hair and is pretty flexible and stretchy. Comes in colours too. I do advise not wrapping anything without being shown how to do it though regardless the species of the patient as improper wrapping can cut off blood supply or can damage tendons or ligaments or both. Too tight cuts off circulation, too loose slips down and can cut off blood supply and damage tendons. Get your vet to show you how, this isn't something to try on your own. why not get a baby sock and pull that up and devise a way to attach it around his back end so it doesn't fall off - kitty suspenders if you will??

I would def try the snuggy....why didn't the vet give you a cone/e-collar when the foot was bandaged? This would avoid both the bandaging being pulled off, and him licking at sutures.
Just a thought, but maybe you can call the vet and schedule a recheck, hopefully at no cost, to have them place a more successful bandage and ask for an ecollar...? Hope it all works out!!!
