I have a friend who noticed today that her cat has tiny black spots all over his tummy.

They aren't fleas so I took to the internet to see if there was anything likely and couldn't find anything.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Out of all the cats I've had, I've never seen anything like this.

Is there any kind of skin condition that causes little dark spots on the tummy or maybe some kind of internal issue?

Thanks a bunch!!

Could it be flea dirt, sometimes cats get this even if there aren't fleas or just one flea could cause it. If they are actual markings on the skin them I am not sure. x

Interesting....she said she shaved his belly and there are hundreds and some flake off?!!!

It doesn't sound very serious, just mysterious. (I hope!!)

Could be flea dirt, my Candy has a flea allergy and she has to go to the vets for flea injections, she never has fleas but still sometimes has flea dirt?? Also if the cat has had fleas before and been treated could be whats left, will he let your friend bath him? x

Well she's all nervous and taking him to the vet in the morning.

She said none of the other cats have this or are showing any symptoms of anything.

How strange.

I am glad the friend is taking her cat to be checked. Maybe it is not serious and she will get peace of mind.
