My Milo is a very picky eater. I've switched to an all wet diet after my other cat developed a lot of FLUTD issues. (He's on C/D and it seems to be working for him)

Milo will not touch a loaf style cat food. He looks at it and the proceeds to find something to cover it up with. It's funny to watch until I realize how much money I've wasted. Milo loves Fancy Feast or Whiskas Tender Bites. It seems that he prefers food that is more like chunks in gravy. However, I want him to have something that is a bit more nutritious. Any suggestions?

Have you tried Max Nutro? It comes in chunks in gravy. It's about $.55 for a 3 oz. can.

Nutro does have 11 cans in the Natural Choice line that are Chunks & Sauce(Gravy). These range in Kitten, Adult, Weight Management & Senior. In the Max Cat line there are 8 different varieties in Adult with Chunks & Sauce(Gravy). My Chester Cheetah prefers the Chunks & Sauce variety as well. The pate style he just looks at me as if to say "Seriously???"

Different stores may not carry all the varieties but most larger Pet Specialty shops do. Reasonably priced as well, depending on the store. The website has them all listed if you want to look them over.

Good Luck!

One more thing, if he is on a prescription diet double check with your vet to be sure he/she agrees with feeding regular wet food. I am sure you have already done that but I wanted to be sure.

Have you tried BFF? Most of it seems to be like shredded and kind of the consistency of the fancy feast in gravy but without the gravy. My picky eater Cindy loves it.

Wellness also makes pouches that are chunks and gravy style. My kitty is not thrilled about pate canned food, but he loves the Wellness pouches! They are quite pricey around here though.

Both Tiki Cat and Weruva offer shredded chicken in gravy. Sheba is a grocery store option.

Some "non-loaf/pate" styles are: (and I'm including ones of all quality & some previously mentioned)
Pro Plan cans
BFF
Petco's Soulistic (green cans are shreds)
Wellness Pouches (chunks in gravy)
Nutro/Nutro MAX pouches (chunks in gravy)
Fancy Feast
Friskies
Weruva
Sheba tins (note - not a complete food so cannot be sole food in diet)
Tiki Cat
Taste of the Wild

I have one that eats only gravy canned, she likes the Eagle Pack Holistic (brown cans) as it's very juicy loaf/pate style. Don't know if you care to take a gamble & try it or not.

Two more ideas - which probably are *not* UTI friendly, Solid Gold makes a blended tuna can that my cats love.....and Meow Mix pouches/cups.

Just wanted to clarify, the Nutro Cat formulas that were previously in pouches are now in cans. You may still find some pouches out there, they were to be on the shelf until they sold out but I believe it is all canned available now.

FWIW, Walmart's Special Kitty has a line of stews - salmon, chicken, turkey and tuna - which have actual identifiable chunks of meat in the mix. It isn't like shreds or chunks in gravy but more of a chopped style food, but not paste style. I can't remember the ingredients but grains are way down on the list compared to most grocery brands. It is worth a try anyway as my fussy Da Lip seems to like it.

Innova makes a couple of chunks and gravy cans, Innova Flex Chicken and brown rice stew, and Innova Flex Beef and Brown rice stew. Tolly is thriving on them.

I never realized Innova made canned food - I'm sure I've seen it, but it probably never registered in my brain.
I will have to look for the Innova Flex to see if my kitties like it.

Good luck finding it .. when I did it was pricier than Evo and they only had three cans

My feed store carries it, though I have ordered it on line too, as they are sometimes out of stock. Innova and Evo are the same company, but have different lines. The other food Tolly eats, California Naturals Venison and Brown Rice (a pate, the only pate I've ever seen him eat) is also made by the same company, Natura.

The Innova is $1.15 for a 3 oz can. The California Naturals is $1.05. Jennie's Wellness is also $1.15 for a 3 oz can.

Mazy's Prescription c/d kibble is the least expensive food in the house!
I'd feed her the canned c/d if they made 3 oz cans, but Mazy, who is not normally picky, does not like the c/d canned after it has been opened and refrigerated, even after warming it up.

Two of my cats won't touch the pate style food and the others will eat it only if nothing better is offered. I feed Friskies Prime Filets. It has chunks of meat in gravy and comes in several different flavors. I like it because the first ingredient listed (after water) is a named meat. Read the ingredients list carefully. Some of the other Friskies chunk style food has meat byproducts as the first ingredient. I try to stay away from those.

Friskies is available in a lot of grocery stores, although they don't always have the Prime Filets. I usually buy 24-can packs at PetSmart. It's definitely cheaper than a lot of the others.

I've tried to get some of the brands others have suggested, but most of them I can't even find and the ones I could were way out of my budget. I was really looking forward to the TOTW wet food, but when it finally came out I disappointed to find that it is mostly fish and very expensive, something like $1.25 for a 3 oz. can. Besides, my cats mostly ignore or try to bury fishy things (unless it's my tuna fish sandwich
).

Nature's Variety makes Homestyle stews - they're chunks in gravy. My younger cat loves them. They're pricier than Friskies but not as pricey as Wellness pouches. I've heard mixed reviews about those. Both my cats didn't like them either. Almo nature is a food that looks like real shredded chicken. It doesn't have a lot of ingredients but my cats love it. I don't know if you can find it easily however.

Mine like Soulistic, I have Fancy Feast and some more Solistic plus some Wellness to see what works best(FF is about the best I can afford, but they'll eat what they eat and I'd rather pay more for something they'll eat over going cheap and them not eating it.) They chowed down on the Chicken and pumpkin(you could actually see the pumpkin) Soulistic. They don't seem too into the FF but that could be because they hate the paste Lysine. I just put it on top today since I was rushing out the door to get Bobby home. My dad is deathly allergic to cats so they can't live with me, so they live with Paul and Nuts has decided Paul is his human, so much for being mine, but I'm Attitude's human so it all works out. I also had to stay home tonight because my dad is in the hospital with something wrong with his heart so I couldn't just feed them when I got back from putting Bobby to bed like I normally do. I did slice up the pate(they'll eat it, although I think they prefer chunks) to mix the stuff in, not sure if it worked or not I forgot to ask Paul.

The soulistic seems to smell and look more like real food, plus most are grain free(not sure if you prefer grain free, I don't care either way with mine, they will eat both.) The fish varieties aren't but the others are. I don't mind grain though, their dry is grain free(Solid Gold, but I'm transitioning from NB so they still get grain from their dry) and it doesn't seem to bother them. I know some can't do grain and others can't do grain free, but most can do most.
