So i take my cat once a month for a nail trim, she loves the car ride there, but hates the nail trim part,i mean with a passion. Wondered if any of you had try to pop a tranquilizer called acepromazine,my vet said i can try this and try to trim myself, but i dont want to take a chance of hurting her or her thinking im trying to hurt her with this pill? feedback??? thx

I would try Bach's Rescue Remedy which is all natural and can be bought at most Health Food Stores. I give it to all three of my furkids when we go to the Vets and they are like butter melting. I am not a fan of chemicals for furkids.

You could try a product called Feliway. You should be able to get it at any pet store. There is a plug-in version.

I find mine are much more stressed at the vet than at home, so its not a good indicator of whether they would need a tranquilizer, but it would be my very last resort - as mentioned above bachs and Feliway can help with stress

It is sold in most petstores, and mimics the pheramones they give out when they rub against stuff so shouldn't hurt them (I have heard of it not working with some cats but never harming them)

Try it yourself
Wrap your cat up in a towel so they feel more secure and take kitty clippers (I like the scissors type for kitties) and just take a bit off of the tops. I do this every week with mine, at home, it is quick, painless, and easy. And cheap.
