Maybe you could have a natural gas furnace installed or an electric one. They are available.

Investigate Cap and Trade a bit more before saying the above, you may change your mind.

As the job unfolded, however, the workers did have intermittent trouble with pockets of natural gas. Highly flammable, the gas was forcing its way up the drilling pipes.

This was something BP had not foreseen as a serious problem, declaring a year earlier that gas was likely to pose only a “negligible” risk. The government warned the company that gas buildup was a real concern and that BP should “exercise caution.”

At one point during the previous several weeks, so much of it came belching up to the surface that a loudspeaker announcement called for a halt to all “hot work,” meaning any smoking, welding, cooking or any other use of fire. Smaller belches, or “kicks,” had stalled work as the job was winding down.

Oh dear, it sounds like Halliburton won't be able to be blamed. Darn it all.

As much as I would enjoy having either one of those as an option its just not. More than likely after BF and I move this house will get torn down to put up another barn for the farm so Im not really willing to spend that kind of money upgrading the house when its not mine to begin with. The only bonus is that we have an electric hot water heater and the wood stove is our primary heat but we do still have to fill the tanks for the winter for at night.

I will do some research on Cap and Trade though cuz Ill be honest I dont know squat about it. I only know that my electric bill has skyrocketed this year and I hate winter because of the high cost of oil. I dont even like driving because of how much gas costs and wont fill my gas tank until Ive got enough gas points racked up to make it worth while.

It would be kind of nice to find an energy source that is renewable in nature, though. Although that might mandate long term investment and research that might not appear to pay off immediately.

There are days I so hope there's a Manhattan project going on re energy that we just don't know about at the moment.

They should have started it thirty years ago after the Oil Embargo. I fault Republicans politicians, car mfrs and big oil for much of that.
