Teeny tiny day to day thing that really annoys you....?????

I ask this as im sitting with my head resting up against my watch arm and i can hear my watch ticking, i hate hearing a clock tick it really bugs me and then i have this stupid ticking clock in my room that keeps itself right so if it looses a few seconds here or there it resets itself meaning it has to go all the way around and it makes such a racket
I never used to be able to hear the clock ticking even tickin clocks so I dont get why now i do very strange

Its like downstairs you can hear the sitting room and dining room clock theres no tock just the tick because when one clock comes to its tock the other one is ticking and its the same if you stand between the dining room and the kitchen

oh my i realise just how mad i sound lol

My most annoying daily issue is when my neighbors wake me up hours before I have to! My neighbor upstairs wakes me up an hour+ every morning with heavy feet, blasting TV which he sometimes leaves on after he leaves ( he is definitely extremely hard of hearing), and when he leaves he slams his door, sometimes 2-3 times! In a crazy way the door slamming has become a relief because I know he is leaving
............
That is just the first major annoying issue I deal with every day, it would be my alarm clock but I never get that far

There's a building being constructed some blocks away and the workers have this annoying horn as a warning call. I will have to bear it until the building is finished. Bummer...

Great thread idea, AJ!
Where do I start...my dad wakes me 3 outta 5 mornings a week banging his razor against the sink while he shaves...doesn't swish it in water, or use a brush to clean the blades, just bangs it to clear it...drives me MAD!!

Then there's the grandfather clock - it chimes EVERY 15 MINS...with a progressively longer tune till it reaches the hour. (when I was confined to home with bronchitis, and unable to do anything, it felt like the clock ws saying "u have done nothing with ur life in the last 15 minutes!")
Every time he's away I stop it, and when he's working his late days, I stop it for 12 hours of blissful silence.

The room opposite my bedroom is my dad's 'office' -where he has not 1, not 2, but 3 clocks which all tick (at different rates) so I hear 3 ticks per second...needless to say that door's shut whenever I get a chance too!!

I once shared a house while in college (only for d last 8 wks of my term, thank God!). I'm not kidding when I tell ya, the girl in the bedroom next to me, spoke to herself constantly, out loud, in spanish. She was a night owl, so 2:30am she'd still be having long and loud conversations with herself! My spanish speaking friend stayed over once, and he heard her 'conversation'...she was talking to some imaginary cat and arguing with it!

The other guy in the house, worked construction, so 6am his radio came on and I got to hear the news headlines as it was always so loud...then he slammed his bedroom door shut and (i'm convinced) he Jumped down each step of the stairs in his hobnail boots!

But 2 minutes spent cuddling up to my cats for rubs tends to recharge my 'calm reserves' for the next onslaught, lol.

Annoying, huh? I have neighbors with motorcycles who think revving the engine is something everyone should hear, any time of the day or night. The same neighbors are, apparently, deaf; the bass on their car stereos makes my windows rattle. I also hate the sound of basketballs being bounced up and down the block. I don't mind the kids, it's the "thunk, thunk, thunk" for hours at a time. You can only turn your tv up so loud.

I absolute detest the sound of people (or cats for that matter) eating. Normal, quiet eaters are ok, but when someone is smacking their lips and chewing with their mouth open, it absolutely drives me batty
The guy who sits behind me at work is a very noisy eater and I have to leave my desk if he is eating at his

I can not stand to have any ticking clocks anywhere near my bedroom, that would keep me awake all night. I have a digital clock and radio in my bedroom so I don't hear a sound. I do have a ticking battery operated clock in my kitchen which took me a long time to get used to. As long as I can't hear it in the bedroom I'm fine.

I also hate it when I get a busy signal when I call someone, it's like no one should be talking to anybody when I'm trying to call them

I feel the exact same way about a clock ticking. I used to have one in my room, a really pretty one that was more there as a decoration than to tell me the time- I had to get rid of it, I couldn't stand it.

I am pretty annoyed at cleaning house only to start over. Also, I get tired of trying to plan a supper meal everyday. As for clocks we have had two bad experiences with them. Someone gave us a clock that plays Christmas carols on the hour. We went to bed one night. My husband slept in the front bedroom just off the living room because he was having to get up real early the next morning. Every hour he heard that clock that was on the tv in the living room go off with a Christmas carol. He said that he never could get awake enough to go find it. So he would sleep an hour at the time then get seranaded. We no longer have the clock. The other one is my sister gave me one that a cat meowed every hour. It was an awful meow, like a sick sounding cat. I took the battery out of that part of the clock and used it without the cat meow.

How could I have forgotten that one?! That is probably my biggest pet peeve. I have 2 family members that are like that, to the point of food actually falling out of their mouths! UGH!

OMG! I had a good one today! Stranger then the fact that it happened once, it happened twice!!!!!!!
I get on the train which I ride for about 20 minutes, next to an older gentlemen who is falling asleep next to me. Not just next to me but on me
! I was barely awake myself but to have someone literally falling over asleep on my side, and not acknowledging it....really annoying!
Then after work I get on the train and sit next to a young lady who was obviously exhausted, she starts falling over on me as well! I couldn't help but laugh, never happened before in my 20 plus years in NYC, twice in one day
... Eventually she fell over so much she woke her self up and looked at me and apologized.

Ticking used to bother me more, but it's covered up by ringing now so I don't notice clocks very often, plus I have no analog in the house right now. (btw, wear earplugs to concerts people, especially when its industrial bands playing)

Even though ticking is covered up I can still hear computer fans from the other side of the house when the rpms are revved up due to cpu/gpu load and when hard drives are working too hard. It really annoys me when my BIL is playing in the living room and I can hear that the 360 is running too hot (DH's 360 mind you). The sound annoys me because I know it could mean potential damage.

The other one is the sound of older tube tvs, fluorescent lights, and some regular light bulbs.. The common pitch they ring at is higher than the small amount of range I lost in my right ear so I can still hear them very well.

There is a gal at work who sounds like a pig at the slop trough when she eats. I usually leave the break room when she comes in, she's that disgusting. The guy across the street either needs a new muffler on his Mustang, or he's got noisy glasspacks. Either way, it's just plain rude when he guns the engine at the crack of dawn, and wakes up the neighborhood. I've been thinking about leaving him a nasty-gram on his windshield some night.

The guy next door is a noisy sleeper. We share a bedroom wall and every night he groans and grunts. It is much better now that he has a breathing machine for his sleep apnea though.

A girl at work spends every break talking to the girl in the cubicle next to mine. It is very annoying. It would be ok if she talked quietly but she talks very loud! I have talked to my supervisor about it and he was supposed to have taken care of it but it still continues. She mostly does it when he is not in the office now.
