To me, most of the PP canned/wet food isn't much better than Fancy Feast. Do a side-by-side ingredient comparison. The PP has soy, additives, artificial this n that... not worth the premium price IMO.

One of the exceptions IS that sardines and tuna, which is pretty darn good. My boys adore it - but the sardines make their poo stink to high heaven.

I haven't noticed a smell.. yet, but my new cat loved it and my finicky cat attacked it.

My cats don't like premium brands much, but they'll eat up cheap stuff.

I don't consider PP "cheap" because of the price tag. I do consider it overpriced for what it is. I can't speak about the dry food.

I never liked ProPlan DRY food and I won't feed my cats that much "fish" based foods. They get a taste or two of fish we ware eating for supper and that's all.

I stick to the high quality foods and don't consider PP high quality.

I always had great results with the PP Dry and my shepherds for some reason. They lost weight on a lot of the super premium foods no matter how much I fed (and it gets pretty darn expensive to feed that much). Purina jacked up the price on ProPlan for some reason however, and I ended up feeding Costco Kirkland food to the dogs and they did just as well.

I'm simply looking for something decently priced that my cats will eat. My finicky cat tries to bury food she doesn't like, and that seems to be most of the higher end foods so far. Included in the burying list are meow mix and friskies. She has loved the three varieties of PP I have tried so far.

My small town has little selection so I am headed out this weekend to the city to see what I can find.

In terms of price, Petsmart is offering PP cans at 50 cents each, so I didn't think it was all that expensive comparatively. Just an observation, not defending PP as a food.

The only major concern is too much fish for your male cats - that tends to increase the risk of UTI's. Just keep it in mind.
