Our sweet little Spooky was last seen on Sat. 4/25 - which we estimate to have been his 1st birthday! He is a neutered male and doesn't wander from home, but we have no trace of him! He's solid black and our minds are going crazy thinking the worst. Our other three cats miss him so much (as do his human family members).
We need good vibes for Spooky's safe homecoming!!!
Thanks to all!!!

Come home, Spooky!

What have you done so far to try to find him? Check some of the other threads in the S.O.S. Forum. There are a lot of suggestions for different things you can do, maybe something you haven't thought of yet.

Hi, have you checked your local shelter? I'd recommend checking www.petharbor.com daily. You can view pictures of cats being held at the local shelter, and they usually update everyday. I'd also post an ad on Craigslist, and post posters wherever you can. Good luck!

Pet Harbor is not well used enough in the shelter world to rely on - call your local shelters, rescues, vets etc - bring them a photo of him. I can't tell you how often the owner's descriptions of lost cats is different from the one the person finding the cat or the vet that sees them before the shelter does are.

Go door to door and ask your enighbours if they have seen him and to keep an eye out for him

If you have something with his scent, put it outside and it may help lure him back if he is close but scared

Sending prayers and vibes that Spooky comes home soon
On a Sunday, in late spring, there's a chance that he wandered into a garage or a travel trailer which was left open for spring cleaning.
Is he tame enough that he'd go up to a child who took him home as a "lost cat"?...just a couple of thoughts...

Thanks to all for the prayers and good vibes. Little Spooky is still missing

We've checked our local shelters and gotten on their lists, and with PetHarbor - need to call area vets still. We've gotten the word out to a few neighbors, but many have not been home this week (our neighborhood is always busy with people, cats - this week has been like a ghost town!) I had planned to put up posters today, but we are having a bad wind storm now (didn't work so well). Spooky doesn't really go up to people and doesn't wander - it's all just strange and very sad! He came to us as a stray kitten and made our front porch his home. There is another black cat that we suspect is a litter mate still in our area. He/She came visiting last week, but Spooky doesn't really seem to care for him/her. Maybe he ran off with him/her? We don't know where it lives, though. We do have a large apartment complex on our block that needs to be searched completely. Spooky LOVES our other cats (especially Winky and Faylene). In fact, we think he loves them and tolerates us!!!! Spooky is their little shadow!! And they miss him so much!! It's sooooooo sad for all of us!!!

There is a non-profit organization called Missing Pet Partnership that has done amazing studies on lost pets. They've developed and documented profiles that can help you predict a lost cat's behavior. The average return rate for lost cats is only about 2% nationally, but we developed a Lost Cat Recovery program at our cat rescue following Missing Pet Partnerships guidelines and our return rate over 90%. Now the ASPCA is teaching these same techniques nationwide. You can find out more on the MPP website at http://www.missingpetpartnership.org...ry-lostcat.php
