OK, on the way home from surgery yesterday, Dottie got a call from an employer that she really wants to work for. She's qualified, she has recommendations from inside, and she has no real competition.

However, she has to go to the interview tomorrow with a bandage covering the ugly wound I just posted. She needs all those magical vibes she can get from you guys that she won't gross out the interviewer and miss a good opportunity.

it'd be a REALLY shallow person that couldn't/wouldn't overlook the fact she had a new surgery scar! & on the way!

I certainly hope they would overlook a new scar! It's not like something she had control over afterall.

I agree with everyone else here, a bandage from a recent surgery should not be counted as a negative. Hoping she gets an interviewer who agrees with all of us...

And, if this employer would be so shallow, it wouldn't be a good fit anyway. That's just not a good company if that makes such a huge difference to them, especially if it's nothing that would actually adversely affect performance of that particular job (could be different if you were up for a leading role in a major movie, I suppose!)

A good employer would be more impressed that someone came to the interview so soon after treatment, than being grossed out.

I think it'd be cool to take a photo (loaded to her phone or palm) and casually show that to the interviewer and say, "This is what I'll look like again in 3 weeks when I'm healed." It would diffuse any tension about the whole thing. Of course that would only work if she's willing to answer questions about what's under the bandage.

GOOD LUCK!!!!

Sending mega vibes for Dotty, I had an accident before christmas and am left with a funny shaped scar on my head, it has faded alot now and when I put make up on you can't see it. Dotty had this done as somewhat of a lifesaver and its a scar to be proud of. I really do hope she gets this job. xx

The latest on this is that the woman doing the hiring was going to hire Dottie, but she got fired last week. Who knows what will happen now?

However, Dottie is going to be driving a bus up in Carolina's part of town this week. She's going to drive the SMU Mustang Express bus, which is a local bus, paid for by SMU, that is free and goes around in the area of SMU.
