Buddy my cat was drinking a lot of water back in feb 2009. I did a blood test with T4 it seemed okay except for a very slight elevated BUn and protein. Dr said everything was okay. Then he got real sick 6 months later and more blood tests were awful. Kidney disease : he died very quickly. Now his sister seems a bit boney is drinking more water than usual and has gone in the bathtub to drink but not constantly. Her breathing or when she tries to purr is a bit nasal, her poops are dry and little and she eats but not that much. Took her to the vet we did blood all seemed well though slightly anemic but it is rejuvenating itself. No diabetis, no T4 issues. She said i need a urine test which I'm getting. Or she said perhaps its kidney but nothing is showing up. So any ideas. cat seems to be sleeping longer than usual. she is 13. Its all so odd I feel there is something wrong but nothing is showing up?

With the change in poops and increased water intake, I bet you're dealing with kidney problems. Not an easy road to hoe, but there are definitely things you can do to extend the life expectancy of your cat and she can have a good life, too.

I feel that to but how come nothing is showing up on blood tests? even a little bun ? protein? Would urine Test show more? I kinda doubt it. I'll just never forget buddy, beas brother blood came out good though he was drinking tons of water, seemed more bony vet said he was fine then "BOOM" dead in 7 months. Blood results were incredibly bad. How can things go down so fast. Thats what I'm scared of here and yet no one is saying anything. Perhaps I should treat her like she has it to prolong(help her) it before it gets bad if its that???
