Turtle hates wet food - how do I give her Lysine?

My youngest furbaby Turtle (who turns 1 next week!) seems to be the most finicky eater I've ever had. She flat out refuses to eat anything wet! I have tried a dozen different brands, textures and flavors - no luck. I've tried adding canned tuna and the juice or just tuna by itself - nada. I tried catmilk and a gravy specially made to add to cat food to make it tasty - nope. Baby food earned me a haughty look of disgust. Everything I've tried gets the same reaction: a sniff, a taste, then dramatic scratching to cover it up like it's the stinkiest thing in the world!

I have 7 other kitties that all like wet food (although Autumn doesn't like anything fish flavored). I feed them a urinary tract health formula dry food throughout the day, and 1/4 can of the same formula of wet food at night and add their Lysine to that (I have one cat that has a high urinary ph, and this food seems to keep it at a normal level). Everyone has to eat the same thing - it's simply impossible to feed 8 cats all something different and keep everyone to their own food.

So what do I do with Miss Finicky Turtle? How do I get Lysine into her without forcing it down her throat like medication? I wanted her to eat wet food to add moisture to her diet to help her kidney function (she has no problems yet - she's only 1), but she likes NOTHING wet. What do I do?

Does she drink water? It's not as effective since you cannot control the dosage as easily - but you can put the lysine into their drinking water. I feel bad b/c my boys love wet food more than life itself!

You could also try it in nonflavored yogurt. Or meat babyfood (make sure the ingredients don't have onion or garlic in them.) My cats love both of those.

I buy the powdered form and put it in their water bowls. You can't get a good measured dose in there if cats share the bowl, but it does give them some of it.

also, RC special 33 contains lysine [added] in the kibble. Pixel's done much better since i started using this for their kibble. prior to that, i used to add it to the water... she also won't eat wet, or baby food, or anything else of that nature!

We mixed powdered lysine with a very small amount of canned Science Diet A/D and shot it in our cat's mouth with a feeding syringe. It was easier than coaxing her to eat it in food.

Our vet also sells lysine in "palatable" gel form, but our cats all hated it.

A couple of other options:

I've sprinkled the lysine powder directly onto the dry food and the cats eat it with no problem. It's got a little bit of a salty taste, but the cats don't mind it at all. The only issue is that it doesn't stick to the food very well, so you'll waste a lot of the powder that way. Good thing the Now brand Lysine powder is so inexpensive! Or, you could moisten the dry food a bit, and it will stick to the food.

Or, does Turtle like Pill Pockets? If so, you can buy a bottle of 500mg Lysine tablets at any drug store or Walmart and split them in half, stuff them in a Pill Pocket and give them as treats. They are a HUGE hit with my two girls!! Unfortunately my boys don't like Pill Pockets...

for some strange reason, it's maple-flavored! you'd think it'd be chicken or fish or something like that, wouldn't you?
