I don't go on holidays.
With 11 kitties and 2 with medical issues, I find it hard to trust anyone but me to take care of them.

We do manage some day trips here and there. Frankly, I like these kind of outings. I like to go, but it sure is nice to come home and and sleep in my own bed.

Well, on my yearly Convention trip, which is usually the only trip I ever get to take, (though that's not here or there), I pack one or two days before.

I don't go on holiday, either. I don't mind the occasional day-trip, but I am a complete homebody. Also, I have 6 cats (2 of whom take meds on a regular basis) and I don't trust anyone to take care of them properly.

I'm definitely a last-minute packer. Always have been. I've tried to pack in advance and it just doesn't work. I always think I'm going to pack something I need.

I'm usually up most of the night before I leave.

I pack the night before my trip if it's in the morning and the morning of the day of my trip if I will be leaving in the afternoon..no wonder I always forget stuff.

I always tell myself to start about a week before but in reality its basically 24 hours in advance. I like the adrenaline rush I guess.

We don't do much travelling, but it tends to be the day we leave, unless we have to leave really early, in which case, the night before. If it's longer than a night or two we're going to be away, I'll do some thinking about it a week or so ahead to make sure the things I want to take haven't just gone in the wash.

Gee I haven't traveled in a very long time but when I did I would first make a list of everything I needed to pack which made things a lot easier for me. Then about a week before I would start packing clothes that I wasn't worried about being wrinkled such as underwear, shoes and bags. I didn't pack my clothes until the last night or even that morning if I had the time.

I usually can't pack until the night before, at least the bulk of it since I use a lot of the supplies in normal daily life.

I think about what I am going to bring for a while and then take 2 days to pack. I do that because I end up not taking all that I pack the first day. It is packing a la Rick Steves.

If I am going to visit relatives, I pack more.

Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
I pre plan my packing for what I want to take and have to take but dont actually pack until the night before I leave and I make sure that if Im driving Im wearing my sweats and comfy clothes and my adidas sandals that are now 7 yrs old. I dont travel in jeans cuz its just too uncomfortable for me. But nowadays BF and I dont go on vacations because 1 we dont have anyone we can trust to watch the cats for an extended period of time and 2 we have never and will never leave Franklin in the care of anyone else. Our rule was that if we cant keep him with us at all times then we cant get him. Well we have him so no overnights with out the baby. It kinda bites for Gram though because she is dying to get to babysit her 'grandson'.

I can't go anywhere for more than one or two nights, either. Since I don't need much, that means I pack the day I'm leaving - or the night before if we're leaving really early the next morning.

I make a list far in advance....like when I book the trip.
That way I make sure of exactly what I have and what i may need to purchase before the trip. Than a week before i go through and usually edit my list. I then pack what I can, make sure clothes that need to be laundered are taken care of and the night before I pack those items and everything but my last minute toiletries. I usually go on cruises so i have it down to a science!
