It's been about a week since they met for the first time. And yes, they still bicker (mostly over favorite sleeping spots, or over spazzy Jack's constant attempts to play, even when Soph is half-asleep).

But they also...

...eat together.

...bird-watch together.

...and of course, play together.

The last picture is the best I could do - they run around so much that it's hard to catch a photo where either (a) one is not just a kitty-blur, or (b) one hasn't already left the vicinity entirely by the time the camera goes off. It is a much-needed workout for Soph, who is a couch potato like her mother
and is starting to look a bit thick around the middle!

So much fun!

Also, an update on Mr. Jack...he is really thriving now that he's out of "solitary"...his fur is glossing up, he has put on some weight (he's always going to be long and lean, but you can feel the muscle development in his legs and back - it's really striking) and he is mostly sneeze-free. He is also EXTREMELY high-energy and keeps Sophie on her toes! Here is Jack in a (rare) quiet moment.

You've got some cute lookin' Halloween-colored kitties there
.

In the midst of everything going on with me, I've missed so much of what has been happening on TCS. I didn't even realize you had adopted another kitty -- and such a cutie at that! Both Jack and Sophie-Ann are sweethearts and I think they'll be the best of friends in no time. Truth be told, they look like they are off to a fabulous start!

Congrats on your new kitty. He's adorable. And, how could I leave without saying how beautiful Miss Sophie-Ann is
? Here's to hoping all continues to go well for you and your crew.

And, please, more pics! I love the bird watching photo!

What a long way Jack has come in such a short time! He is looking so good!

That pic of them together at the window says it all.

Thanks guys
They are a couple of nuts! I've been walking around with my camera trying to catch pictures of them together, but they just move too quickly - they're driving me crazy!
As I started typing this, they were sort of lying together on the floor...Jack on the hardwood, and Sophie right next to him but inside his box - I got up to snap a pic, and Sophie retreated to the back of the box. Argh!!!

Lilysmomma, I really believe it's worth every bit of the extra work and expense to get a second cat, if you can afford it and have the time. It's definitely not sunshine and roses all the time, of course!
I just nearly had to step in and break up a scuffle over possession of the two cardboard scratch mats (seriously, you would think those things were made of gold and encrusted with diamonds). But it's really not too different from refereeing two HUMAN siblings!

Will keep trying to grab pics of them together!

Ain't that the truth!!! I say my boys are just furry toddlers - with sharp teeth and claws!!!
Seriously... glad to see the two of them getting on!

Oh my gosh...I've actually had a few friends urge me to just get one more in the next few months while they're all still young and adaptable, but I don't think my nerves could handle it.
Just two of them have me at my wits' end! Five minutes ago, there was a WWF smackdown happening in the middle of the bedroom floor, and I was so sure they had crossed the line from playtime to Death Match. Now they're calmly eating kibble off the same plate. My nerves are shot!

Thank you, by the way, for the compliments for my pretty Sophie-Ann! 2am wrestling matches notwithstanding, I have been so very proud of how well she's adapted to having her "space invaded". After all, she's had her "mama" all to herself since she was 5 weeks old! But really, aside from absolutely refusing to allow Jack to sleep on the bed with us, she's been such a patient, accepting little darling.
