Well, you shouldn't take it if you don't need it But I much prefer they give it back now than sitting in their bank accounts unused and not in the government's account where it can be used for its original purpose

Don't be so hard on the Examiner. The headline today "Obama disses White Guys - Rallies blacks, Latinos and women" made me laugh so hard I spit up my coffee. It does have it uses.

I seen that online last night, the article was compelling, however I didn't see his argument when I watched the attached video

Is this source left-wing enough to be credible?

Really? Does the LA Times "lose credibility"? Is the LA Times, a well known liberal site, "biased" for reporting the news?

Ahhh, another, "attack the source to evade debating the issue" poster. Even though I posted another link more left leaning.

I'm wondering if anyone can debate the issues anymore?

It was meant to be just humor. There is no requirement that I have to debate anything. And I usually don't debate these threads as most people seem to have thier minds made up on both sides and they are just too many all along the same theme.

I really don't understand the propaganda machine on the right.
General Motors is saying they have repaid theirs, but I have not heard that Chrysler has repaid. Maybe someone else knows.
GM kinda paid back theirs, they paid it back using unspent bailout money and are applying for a bigger loan to help comply with new emission standards and did not pay back the portion that is used as equity in the company

I haven't seen anything about Chrysler paying back anything other than the stories last yer that said that it was predicted that their bailout would not be paid back

If I give you $100, $50 of which is charity and $10 of which is a loan, and you use $10 of the $50 to pay back the $10 that was a loan, have you really paid anything back?

It's a difficult thing to figure. Did they pay anything back? Or just use our own cash to pay us. Oooooh...my head hurts!

Now I'm confused! How does $50 + $10 = $100?

I think the other $40.00 was a kickback!

No it was the 'equity stake' for the government to control the business

I know I'm a bit long in the tooth but I was thinking this "new math" certainly is different than what I learned in school. It would explain why my pay cheque doesn't go as far as it used to.

Turns out this is not true at all. Just a lie by GM and tax cheat Tim Geithner, the guy Barack chose to head the I.R.S. You just can't make stuff like this up.

Geithner and GM tell a whopper UPDATED!

"We have repaid our government loans in full, with interest, five years ahead of schedule"

Here are the facts, according to Neil Barofsky, inspector general for the Troubled Assets Relief Program. His most recent quarterly report explained that, "the source of funds for these quarterly [debt] payments will be other TARP funds currently held in an escrow account."

In other words, as Reps. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., and Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, said in a letter to Whitacre, the GM chairman's words come "dangerously close to committing fraud. ... Your false statements may expose GM to millions of dollars in damages, further reducing the value of the taxpayer-owned company

Anyone with an ounce of common sense knows that a company posting huge losses can't possibly have repaid their loans to be debt free!

General Motors lost $4.3 billion during the second half of 2009, but the automaker could turn a profit this year, the company said Wednesday in its most thorough accounting report since the government rescued it after bankruptcy last year.

What you may not have heard is that Whitacre is being more misleading than a rookie used car salesman with a lot full of lemons and one day left in his pay period.
And now there is a formal complaint with the FTC
