My seven-year-old cat, Lilly, never throws up. It's probably about once a year that she throws up. But for the past week, she's been throwing up a lot, like twice a day at least. I look at it, hoping maybe she ate some plants and threw them back up, but there is no sign of plants in it. It's food. There's no fur either, so their not hairballs.

Is there anything I can give her? Is she developing some sort of illness?

Please note we are going to bring her to the vet for a check-up this month.

Thanks in advance for your replies!

I would definitely get her to the vet ASAP, as vomiting that often can be a sign of a severe illness/problem.

I agree with the previous poster. You really should take your cat to the vet ASAP. Vomiting twice a day is not normal and most likely there is something wrong. Waiting to deal with it can cause it to be harder to treat and also more expensive to treat so please don't delay. Hopefully it's nothing serious and your cat will be just fine.

Good luck

Yes VET!!!

My baby boy Bear barfed up 2x a day for a few days and I figured hairballs... one day I just felt that something was not right, and then I noticed that his skin was yellow. These were his only symptoms.

Long sotry short his liver is severely damaged, and he still might not make it...

So YES, go to the vet now.

I agree - at very least, call the vet and describe the situation. let's hope it's nothing, but true vomiting for more than a day is something to worry about. If it's bad, you don't have a big time cushion here. And, yeah, cheaper to nip in the bud than face something requiring extensive treatment.

Oddly, it was just for about a week that she threw up daily. Now she's absolutely fine. She hasn't thrown up in a few weeks now. Should I still get her in just in case? If she throws up any more I'll bring her straight in. But right now, as it is seemingly not a problem since her health is fine now, should I bring her in with the same amount of concern?

Thanks!
