I am the proud Grandma of 4 little fuz balls. They are only a week old. Mommy is such a good mommy. And she is gettting more and more close to us and less scardy cat. But I dont want her to worry so I am not bothering the babbies. My question is, how long until they start wandering out on their own? I cant wait to play with them.
Their mews are so sweet, and we have a soprano in the bunch!! LOL

I am far from the resident expert, but I believe you should have been touching them already if mommy will allow it. The younger they are when they begin socializing, the more human friendly they will be. It will be much easier to find them great homes if they are well trained by mommy and humans from a very young age.
Congratulations on your new additions. I look forward to hearing about them as they grow and learn. Nothing more precious than a pile of playful kittens.

Everyone says the same thing, but mommy is skidish from being abused before we rescued her. We dont want to disturb her nest and taking care of her babies. But either way, I cant anyway cause I am bed ridden and my hubby would have to bring them to me. And it is HE that says oh no you cant cause Fluffy might get upset and not take care of them. If it were up to me I would have all of them in bed crawling on me!!! But hubby is who he is so I just pray that soon they will wander out and maybe I will get to get my hands on them. Its just killing me knowing these lovable fur balls are here and I cant cuddle them!
As for adoption, that was planned way before they were born. I have a friend at the SPCA Rescue and Adoption Dept. and when they are weened she will come get them all. Its a no kill shelter, she spays/neuters and gives them shots and all and adopt them out. She knows my phone number and adddress and date of birth so she is gonna show up and make sure I have no choice just in case I get attached and want to keeep them but no way can I!!!!

They'll probably start wandering at around 3 weeks, but if you can convince your hubby to, 2 weeks is good to start handing them if you can't now. They can still be socialized fine from three weeks, they'll just be a little nervous at first
and thank you for helping this poor mommy cat and her kittens

Thank you for the encouragement!! And we had no choice but to rescue her. It was the worst snow we have ever had and hubby found her in a terrible animal trap, she was out there all night. When hubby found her he brought her home.

I am greatful my hubby rescued her too! He is like that. Strays seem to come to the door every so often. He finds them good homes and some we fall in love with and have kept. We ALWAYS get them fixed and shots. We are responsible parents and foster parents. The hardest thing about being a foster family is like this here, she had 4 little fluff balls and as you know we have to keeep them for at least 8 weeks, just in time to fall in love with them!! But no worries, we are totally at our limit of keepers! My friend at the SPCA who does the rescue and adoption will come when its time and take all of them. It is a no kill shelter and they fix them and shots and all then adopt them out. But I do feel better cause when we have grown cats it is harder to find homes, but these little fur babies will go like hot cakes!!
Even though its a ways away it is gonna be sooooo painful to let them go!!!

I know the feeling- I've had to let so many fosters go...it's so sad, but, like you said, they'll find homes reaaaalllly quick!
