Well, I took the leap and went into a pet store to look at the Wellness and Purine One brand dry foods for Chickster. She has GOT to get off this C/D since Boo doesn't need it anymore and I've got to get him onto something else besides that. I thought it was going to be this horrible awful trial all over again of finding something that a cat would eat, and while I've got these two (High premium foods are expensive ouch!) bags in my hand, a manager looking type employee walks up to me. Older man. We talked for a real long time and he said he had finicky persians and a tabby, and he switched them to Blue Buffalo on the advice of his vet, who he says took special courses in Nutrition and holistic something or other on their own vacation time. He was very enthusiastic but insisted he wasn't talking me out of Wellness or Purina One, because they're all great.
So I ended up getting the Blue Buffalo, in particular *takes a deep breath* "Spa Select Adult Salmon and Brown Rice Recipe with LifeSource Bits"
(This has Barley, oatmeal, carrots, cranberries (which concerned me the most), sweet potatoes, salmon (also concerned me) brown rice, fish meal, dry egg....it's um, a really long list there)
AND SHE ATE IT.
So, now I am being a ninja and putting it up on the desk (Where Boo won't go and can't jump to, but she can) and telling her in whispers, "It's over here." Let her smell it, put it up on the desk. She sees it. We'll see. I have to keep Boo OUT of it. Then, .. sadly, I'll have to take the C/D away one way or another. Very slowly, I guess? I know Boo FREAKS OUT if I take both bowls away just to clean them out, he acts like I'm going to starve him. I am having such trouble finding BOO something DRY that he will eat. Iams is a big fat no, but I haven't tried the K/D dry, ..... Hi-Tor Neo does not come in a dry, they only have Hi-Tor Felo, which is basically looking like the C/D (To prevent crystals/stones)
Ok, SO. What's the general opinion of this dry food for Chickster (Blue Buffalo), all good there? Thanks guys. I really really really really appreciate it

We are currently feeding BB Chicken and Brown Rice - I stay away from fish-based foods (dry or canned) with males - don't want to be dealing with another UTI and losing another cat at too young of an age like we did with Charlie.

I stick to chicken, beef, lamb and venison. And we feed both dry and canned and some raw.

Chickster is a female so hopefully no problems? I know when I saw Salmon I was a bit concerned.. it's the first ingredient listed. Boo will be switched to some kind of dry... hopefully I can find one soon. He's still got his neo which he loves though.

Blue is IMHO way better than one.. but watch how much comes out as it is likely less digestable
