Should we sun cream them?

Having two white mogs, we were advised way back when they were kittens to always try and sun cream up their ears and nose when they went out during the summer. Mogs had different ideas and would either just lick it off, or refuse to go outside with it on... So we gave up on that idea. Should we start to try again? Last time they had it on, they were about 2... so 10ish years ago!

Oh, and we've never ever had any problems with sun burn/skin cancer/redness/skin problems

I would. I do Sophies ears because she loves the conservatory when the suns out. She still manages to get it off with a licked paw, but i just reapply

I do my white cats - it is just too much of a risk not to. Yes, they lick it off sometimes, or others lick it off for them, but I just rub it in and reapply.

Hi !! My input in this subject is from experience in a stray cat colony on a greek island - lots of sun

I would definetely put sunscreen in their ears, white ears and lots of sun generate cancer on the ears. So please put a lot of sunscreen, dont know which one is good for cats.

One cat had it and she lived up to 10 yrs old, had to be euthanized caused it advanced to the inner ear. Another cat luckily found a home away from tons of sun... so he'll be fine, although a part of his ear will need to be cut to preven expansion because they did find a little sign of cancer in the tip of his ear.
