....or maybe you do!
I was in the tub with a towel wrapped around my hair when Daisy Lou came stomping into the bathroom. She took one look at that towel around my head, and bowed up and bushed her tail like a Halloween cat. "Daisy! It's Mama!" I admonished. She calmed down as soon as she heard my voice. I guess she wasn't used to my new hairstyle.

I had only had my kittens for a little over a week the first time they saw me with my glasses on. They were only barely used to me at that time and did not like the change in my appearance at all.

It's funny how little things like that can confuse/startle them, but other things that you think would don't.

Carrying boxes will still make my cats of 10 years run away like I'm an axe murderer.
I'm not sure what it is. We've had them since they were kittens, they love boxes, they love us...they just don't love it when we carry the boxes.

I wish the cats would get out of my way when I'm carrying things. Instead it seems to signal "hurry! run under foot!"

For some reason, Speck thinks I intend to stuff him in a grocery bag. He just knows that's what I'm up to and is on to my evil plan. I've never stuffed a cat in a bag in my life.

My cats freak when I wear a towel on my head too! I walk around with one on after I wash my hair, and you'd think I was an alien!

I apparently transform into a big, scary monster when I put on my winter coat, especially if I have the hood up.

I wish also wish mine wouldn't get underfoot all the time.

You'd think they'd have learned with how many times I've accidentally tripped over them, stepped on their tails, kicked them and just generally stepped on them they'd not get right under my feet, but I must have a sign that says get right under my feet especially when I'm carrying something or otherwise not paying attention.

I think it's so funny to see a cat bow up...especially when they're little kittens and they bow up and run sideways.
To keep them little forever....

Many many years ago, DH and I had this one cat that was afraid of the AC. When he was small, and I was stupid, I thought that it would be funny to hold him up to the vent in the ceiling when the AC came on. Needless to say, he freaked! There after, every time the AC came on he would crouch down and stare at the big, bad thing that blew cold air.

Our first cat would run away from me if I ever put a hat on. Funny how they get these phobias, isn't it?

When Nuts was outside when the moms brought him and the others over at 4 weeks old every time he saw the Siamese he'd puff up and bow and hiss. It was so funny to see this tiny kitten puffed up and hissing at a full grown cat.

He did the same when Maude walked past the bathroom door after Paul had opened it to let him and Attitude(they were around 12 weeks) mingle with Maude the first time. Maude hissed as she was walking past the now open door and I walk into the bathroom to find Nuts all bowed up and hair standing straight up and throwing in a good hiss. He actually saw Maude later and never did that again. I think he realized doing that to a cat that outweighed him by 10 lbs and was already cranky would be rather stupid.

It was so cute when he did that, of course now that he's 10 lbs I don't think it would be cute if he did it now. Attitude never did that to other cats, but she's hissed at me plenty of times. The cutest was when she fell in Mitzi's yard and couldn't get out and Mitzi let the dogs out(neither of us realized she was in the yard.) She got to a spot where the dogs couldn't reach and Mitzi got them back inside as I rush over to grab her. Mitzi's like "she hissed at me!!" I go over get to her and when I go to grab her she is a giant white and black hissing puffball(well as giant as a 2 lb kitten can be.) There was also her hissing at me while I was giving her a bath. She has a cute hiss and she'll hiss but not do anything further on it(like swiping or clawing or biting), just hissing. Now if she bit or swiped or clawed it wouldn't be as cute, it's only cute because she only hisses and puffs up.

Sonny fears nothing *so he says*
Sissy is afraid of the fly swatter...weird cat, I guess she has heart for flies and bees!
Peaches is scared of my brothers sneeze. ( I am too sometimes) LOL
Patches is afraid of kittens (recently found this out! and it is so funny)
Sam is scared of cats he doesnt know dogs he doesnt know, people he doesnt know, anything he doesnt know.
MupMup is scared of everything including her tail.
Scooter is afriad of geese, but rides the vacuum!?
Joey is afriad of thunder storms and the surround sound he scurries away because he thinks whatever it is in the movie is sneaking up on him! LOL!
Josh fears nothing as well. Ive never seen him hiss or hump up at anything.

I have a red rain coat that makes Rocky run the other way. I'm not sure if it's the color or the sound it makes (it's a plastic-type material), but he's scared to death of it.

If it's anything like puttting them in the cat carrier to take them to the vet, then I am missing out!

This thread has me rolling on the floor, tears running down my face. (except for the one who put the kitten up to the AC vent, but I know that poster has repented and would never do anything like that again)

Mazy still does it, she is 6 years old, but still bows, puffs and dances sideways at me, to get me to play Hide and Peek.

I've only had my two new kitten monsters for a week now, so I'm not terribly familiar with their phobias...yet. Although, one REALLY hates baths. When I was younger, our family had a cat that just LOVED climbing into bags and was easily startleable. Sometimes, she'd get a handle stuck around her and then get scared and run off, only to realise there was a loud flapping monster right on her tail. She'd run 3 laps around the house before the 'monster' would fall off.

This is not a funny thing. The cat is terrified when this happens and serious injury can result. Now that you have kittens of your own, please be sure to cut the handles of any bags you may let them play in.

Congratulations on your new kittens, but please don't think of them as "monsters". they are kittens and will wreak havoc, because that's what kittens do.
