Of course they do.  I might not  be qualified to get in but plenty of my "kids" are there.  Free of pain and playing happily.
I can only hope that I can see them again.

If there is a pearly gated community called heaven, where animals are not allowed,
my fur kids and I are going somewhere else...together. ;)

If there is a heaven, of course animals are there - if God is infinite love, well, how how would the pure love of an animal be denied?  Personally, I don't worry about theologies that go on about being saved in only one way - for every theology like that, there are ten, at least,  that go a different way.

And, thinking of what I felt as a child - would not the Virgin Mary make sure any of the animals that welcomed her Child into the world in that stable join Him in heaven?  Even if she had to run around and open the back door ?  Actually, there are some lovely stories about why tabbies have an 'M' on their forehead  in the Catholic tradition - and there's a nice story about the Prophet Mohammed and a cat as well.

There is a Heaven, how ever you define it in your religion.  It's  a better place than Earth.

That's where Autumn/Tucker is now, as of midnight.

My Church categorically tell me that Animals have no place in Heaven, because they were not "saved" by Lord Jesus, only Mankind were. I have a bit of a hard time accepting this. But they are good people, and I would still be a homeless drinker if it wasn't for them. So I just hope they are wrong. (only about this issue though)

It's OK for them to have this opinion.  However, animals do not need to be saved by Lord Jesus because they do not sin.  Jesus is to save people not sinless animals.  Maybe they might change their minds.

Yes, right. Of course.  Tx.  :)

When my cat was sick our friendship and/or love was not affected one bit. Not one bit. Dare I say that his passing did not change it either.  Our pets are so much more than just pets and we know it by the mostly small (which is good enough for me :) and sometimes large miracles that surround our friendships with them.

I realize that this question was asked quite a while ago...but it interests me so I'd like to respond.  There are some early Fathers of the Eastern Church who felt quite strongly that animals WILL indeed be with us in Eternity.  St. Gregory of Nyssa one of these.  The theory is that God went to great lengths to save all of the animal kingdom at the time of the 'Great Flood'...and so His love and caring for animals became especially manifested at that time in a special way in salvation history.  Also, animals are placed in a prominent place in Bethlehem keeping the child warm with the warmth of their breath (the breath of their lives)---so why would God not admit them to Paradise?  Plus of course, animals have not sinned (the snake...rrrrr um...well, that's a special case).  Anyway...there's an great book that might be of interest to you and it can be purchased from St. Joseph's Abbey in Spencer, MA.  I'll print a little blurb here (if that's OK?):

I WILL SEE YOU IN HEAVEN
Cat Lover's Edition

For anyone who is grieving the loss of a beloved pet, this hardcover gift edition of WILL I SEE MY DOG IN HEAVEN? is made for cat owners and offers wisdom, comfort, and the reassuring hope that we will see our animal companions in heaven.

Friar Jack Wintz has been pondering this for years, and he is convinced that God's loving relationship with creation includes the afterlife. Here, Friar Jack traces the history of God's fatherly care for his creatures—from the garden of Eden, to Noah and the ark, Jonah and the whale, and the life and example of St. Francis of Assisi—and also shares from his personal life experience.

"Our God is a God of overflowing love, goodness, and beauty who is ready to give over everything to those he loves. Surely the Creator would not suddenly stop loving and caring for the creatures he had put into existence with so much care!"
—Friar Jack

Hardcover, 112 pages

  • I hope this helps.  Personally, I wouldn't be very interested in any God who doesn't appreciate my cats...and He'll have a LOT to explain if they're not in Eternity when I get there (if I get let in).

When I was a teen I did volunteer work. My supervisor was a really sweet lady who happened to be a nun. On her desk was an urn that held the ashes of her beloved cat. We got into a discussion about her kitty and I asked her if animals went to heaven. She turned to me and said, "Absolutely they do. Those who say that animals don't go to heaven put limits on what God can do." She made a believer out of me.
