My first siggy

I do :cl;ap: but if you want to use it on TCS it needs to be saved as a smaller file size.

What software did you use and I can tell you how to save it smaller

I used GIMP, can you also tell me how to add fonts?

Fonts will depend what OS you are using

With most windows versions, you can download them (dafont.com is a great place to get them), unzip the folder and drag & drop them into c://windows/fonts. With vista, it sometimes locks the folder so right click and click install on the font file

Using Save As, choose your file format as .jpg then click Save
and it'll bring up a dialogue box that lets you set the compression/quality level. There will be a little checkbox you can use to turn on a preview in the image window itself.

it needs to be under 30kb

There is a plugin to help save them smaller

They usually look better if you make the cat the whole height of the sig or close to it

I looooooove your siggy!

I like that your kitty is a little bigger, but I wouldn't want it to be to the top because it looks like your kitty is standing in rain looking up into the vast sky and it's really beautiful!

"Ginga" as in the Brazilian Portugues word? (movement, etc.)?

Im new to the site and decided to learn how to make my own siggy, when I first made one I couldnt figure out how to use my cat's picture in it so I just had to use a wallpaper off google. So then I tried again today and figured it out and this is the 3rd siggy that I made. Any pointer's or tip's would be greatly appreciated.

Wow It probably is, I didn't name her, she was named at the shelter. She moves around all the time, she's always a riot

That's great for a starting signature, nice background by the way What program do you use? If it lets you use feather, I would advise setting it to 15 or so. If the program has patterns or so,ething like that (for backgrounds) you could search on Google or such to find some nice patterns, icklemiss21 has information on creating signatures and making backgrounds on her website.

Im using the free trial of Photoshop and then im gonna use Gimp after the trial is over. I havent really gotten down the background part, as long as I can put a background in it with out having to do any painting and stuff I can do it. I only have feather set on like 2 I think, Thank's for the tip. Im going to make a new one when my cat has her kitten's, I thought about putting my 2 pug's on it too but didnt know what everyone would think since this is a kitty cat forum. It's been fun learning, Im a stay at home mom so I dont have much to do all day and this keep's me accupied. Thank's for the comment.

The "Supercat" picture TOTALLY cracks me up! LOL I almost feel sorry for it, even though it's a picture! It's GOT to be hungry by now . . . LOL
