What significant thing happened on a certain April 18th for Americans? Hint: think poem.

Okay, I am a day late but 500 points to the first correct answer and 500 to the person who can then tell me what happened on April 19 in that same year.

And it was written in 1860 and published in 1863. 1775 to you!

"Listen my children and you shall hear
Of the midnight ride of Paul Revere,
On the eighteenth of April, in Seventy-five;
Hardly a man is now alive
Who remembers that famous day and year."
