I was just through a bad patch with my cat Abby with her teeth and heart problem and now my other cat Callie is ill.
She stopped eating on Friday and was just sleeping and laying around. She'd walk abit and then lay down. So I took her to the vet and they did blood work and checked her over and didn't see much wrong. They got the results back on Sat. and everything normal.
She ate abit on Sat. and I thought she was getting better but on Sunday afternoon she started trembling so I took her to the emergency vet. They couldn't see anything wrong but were able to get her to eat some chicken baby food. They did clean her anal glands and when we got her home it was like she was herself again. Moving about, eating, and I thought that that was probably what the problem was.
This morning she was back to not eating and laying about. So I took her back to my vet who did x-rays which shows she has a very small liver. Said it was not normal for a cat to have a liver that small. Thinks she could have a shunt problem(the blood is not getting to the liver properly)or cirrosis of the liver. So Callie is still at the vets and they are going to force feed her since she hasn't eaten this morning and then take the blood test that tests for this liver condition.
If she has it then we could manage with medicine and diet or else we could ultrasound and see if it isn't an external or internal problem with the blood supply. An external can be fixed with surgery but there's nothing they can do for an internal problem.
My nerves, and bank acct., just can't handle much more of this. Abby, bless her heart, is doing great now that she's better. I feel llike I'm having really bad luck with my kitties.
Please keep Callie in your prayers.
