Thanks for the nice comments! I'm super excited and proud of how it turned out!

CLucas976, This is my FIRST planted tank and anything bigger than 2-3 gallons. I did lots of research on a Betta Forum and put it together. Read lots of other threads, took notes, and asked questions... Lets just hope my plants live
Like i said my FIRST time.

I'll keep you updated for sure!

Looks great!
I think that most divided tanks look odd, but yours is clean and natural looking

I was skeptical about dividing such a small tank, but that is pretty cool looking. I'm assuming you are only putting in one betta in each section.

How does that work regarding the filter and air bubbles in each section?

Yes one betta in each section along with one nerite snail in each section as algae eaters

The little holes in the dividers allow the filter to do just fine. It is placed in between the middle and last division. The only problem i encountered was the division in the far left side gets the film of scum on the water surface since there is hardly any surface agitation. Other betta forum members suggested i use a paper towel to get rid of it daily, put a bubbler in that corner on low, or put in an air stone. But that the paper towel trick should work just fine.

Was thinking it was solid dividers is why I asked. Will be interesting when the fish are in there - do you think they will act more aggressive with each other at the dividers?

They surprisingly dont they cant really see each other as its not see through plastic its more of a frosted colour, i thought a couple times that they had saw each other as they both flared up, but they were just showing off

Rico decided he wants the mansion on the far left

Thinking about a female for the middle division
and a strong male in the far right were the filter is going.
As far as tail type, that will depend on who looks the healthiest in their cup, poor fishys. Today i was just looking and saw some beautiful delta tail females and very handsome double tail males. I especially want a white colored female with that hint or red/pink...

Thanks again everyone for all the wonderful comments

Still no bettas in, cycle isn't complete. Readings are ammonia-0, nitrite-1, nitrate-10, I add ammonia daily and it bottoms out every 6-12 hrs.
My rotala indica melted and just wasn't doing well, needed more light i think. I've added a bronze wendtii and microsword. Took out the middle tree decor since it didn't offer any covering for the betta and added in a cichlid stone with a wide opening. As for the planned nerite snails as algae eaters... i have hitchhiker pond snails instead and malasian trumpet snails. They produce like crazy but they keep my tank looking good and as long as i dont overfeed the fish, the snails wont over populate...

micro sword infront of Rico's mansion:

The cichlid stone in the middle division:

Here's the dwarf lily that was only a bulb with roots from my 1st post and now:

and here's the right divison with the bronze wendtii and microsword:

and rico wanted to make an appearance:

asked on forum and we've concluded: Black Orchid (color), Spadetail (tail type)
