Hi, I have not been here for sometime. Missed my cat friends.

My husband of 27 years had been ill for many months.
On Dec. 22nd when he had bleeding hemorrhage stroke
at our office in which I phoned the 911 service.
He was ill for months before this but they could not find what was
making him so ill after many many tests. Well after 2 days in ICU they tell me
that he had bacteria endocarditis - Strep. virus in his blood stream.
That is what made him so deathly ill and also caused his strokes.
He actually had 3 total which he went on to have seizure, swelling on the brain and tube inserted and finally a permanent VP shunt. Well after 23 days days in ICU, 15 more days in the hospital and 20 days in rehab. facility he went home after a total of 58 days. He was still on IV antibiotics for another week after arriving home. At this point in time he is back to work now for
nearly 3 plus weeks and is totally recovering from this. His body has been damaged from all this.
Of course my life will never be the same and even after all these months
I am still in shock. My husband which now is 63 years and looks only in
his mid 50's was the perfect bill of health with no medical problems ever.
We will never know how he got this bacteria in his blood the Infection disease
doctor said he could have got it through a cut in his finger. Well folks this
is scary and deadly thing to happen to anyone. I urge you to google
bacteria endocarditis and read about it, its scary. most people contract
it from dental work but that was not husbands case. I hear more and more
cases of this in which I never heard of it before.
Live you life as if its your last and love the person you are with!

Hi Brenda, oh my goodness, what a terrible time you have been through, I cannot imagine it. I am so glad that he is now somewhat recovered and more that you still have him. I look forward to seeing you around the boards. x

So glad to have you back after such a trying time! He must be a very strong person to have undergone all he did and be back at work.

I have a friend who lost her husband last Memorial Day weekend in a terrible motorcycle accident. It was not his fault, someone just pulled out in front of him. Your lives can change so quickly.

God bless both of you for coming through this and I hope you have many, many more years together.
