Hello my name is Conor Olmstead and I'm contacting you from Animal Planet.
We are currently in production on Season One of ‘Must Love Catsâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji], a series for Animal Planet. ‘Must Love Catsâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji] is a celebration of fascinating felines and the fascinating people who love them.
Our host, John Fulton is on a personal mission to prove to himself and the world that America is FILLED – top to bottom, east to west – with cat-lovers! That America is, in fact, a CAT-NATION!
We are looking for uplifting and unique human-interest stories or news stories in the New England area. The story we are looking for goes beyond the basic show cat, breeder story, or general therapy cat and focuses on amazing feats, talents, strengths, abilities, unique occupations or the special relationship between a cat and its owner. The biggest challenge of this show is finding stories that are VISUALLY stimulating, and something our host can interact with. Newspaper stories are great, but we also need to show the cats in action. Here is a little information on each topic that we are interested in:
FUNKY FELINE PEEPS - These are people whose world is cat centric. Maybe itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s a long distance trucker whose cab is filled with cats or a yoga practitioner that practices with their cat.
KITTY CITY - These are stories about big populations of cats - not cat hoarders. These are places that are really cool and unique - filled with cats.
CAT LAB - These are stories about researcher and scientists who are finding out cool information about cats. These are fun-fact rich segments but they are told from the catâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s point of view, not the scientists.
CAT LOVE - These are extraordinary stories of love between a cat and his person. These are stories about a cat who saved his personâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s life, cats who overcame amazing odds to be with her family, or people whose lives were dramatically changed by their cat.
CAT FLIX - Everyone can participate! Send us a link to your amazing YouTube videos! This segment will highlight America's cat video - talking/chatty/purring/meowing cats, cats with odd couple friends, cats caught doing amazing things, or cats just caught being cute. (If you have a video you would like to submit - just email me your contact information and a link to your video)
