:D My FIRST day!!

After over a year of being unemployed, I have a job. It's a job I have wanted for about 14 years I am a sorter/cashier at the Salvation Army Thrift Store!!

I start today. I am so happy and excited.

In the last two hours before I had to get up, my dream was very warm and full of love. I drove my old car I had when I was a teenager to her house, and there she was The land was all cleaned up and looking beautiful, my mom was all happy. It warmed my heart and gave me a very positive attitude, with a little sadness for how much I miss those times. I woke up and thanked her and the creator for the wonderful dream

YESSS I am now working!!!

How exciting, congratulations!

I am so happy for you! Not only a job in these hard times, but one you really wanted! We don't have a Salvation Army, but I frequent Goodwill, the Habit for Humanity Store, and the Good Neighbor Shop. When I'm in one of those, I think of how nice it must be to work there. Bravo! I hope it's everything you want it to be and more!

Congratulations on your new job. I have a friend and we love to spend the day shopping at the thrift stores. In our area, we have Salvation Army, Hospice and Habitat for Humanity Restore. Love it.

Congratulations! Strangely enough, I just came from our local Salvation Army thrift store. I'd love to work in a place like that, too. Good luck!

Thank you all. It was wonderful. There was a downer though... we had a 'meeting' that turned out to be a class on child sexual abuse. That was pretty uncomfortable for me. If I knew everyone better, and knew it was a class about it, I could have prepaired myself, but... It's over I survived!

After the 2 hour class, we reopened the store and was slammed for the next 3 hours. The ladies there were worried that I wouldn't come back for how hectic it was. I loved it. Compaired to my last job in Louisiana working in a fashion store... this will be cake!!

I do have a problem with women who spend thousands on plastic surgery, breast implants, fancy clothing, while letting their kids wear one of their old dirty ripped up T-shirts run around the store cussing (5yrs and under). It's nice to be among the nice and humble people again.

I'm beat, I haven't been on my feet for such long periods of time in over a year, and after my hospital stay, my stamina just isn't what it was. I'm glad to have the chance to build it back up. I am thankful to have a job, especially one I really wanted. On top of it all, the lady who trained me, is the lady I am replacing, and she is selling me her car for $5!! It's a grand am (not cute body style) that had problems with the paint, so it's not so pretty... but it is a car! Something I haven't had (of my own) since 2001!!

I truely believe that the creator looks out for us. I was told by a current employee that has known me since I was 13 (35 now) to put in an application, and boom... I had a job, and getting a car! Things really are looking up for my husband and I. Perhaps all the times I could have given up, or cursed him for the not so great luck paid off. I truely hope everyone gets a bundle of good luck like I just have.

Best of all, I am working with 2 ladies (that I know of) Who are just as addicted to and in love with their cats as we all are
