I am a cat lady that needs help from fellow cat lovers!

I'm in New Jersey, and can't believe I'm even writing this...I'm usually the one that RESPONDS to letters such as these. But I am desperate.

My husband and I have 8 cats that we have adopted from shelters and other homes. Unfortunately life is now getting in the way of me taking proper care of ALL of my 8 furry babies. Between work, school, and my husband undergoing cancer treatments/scans, I am just stretched too thin and not spending enough time with my pets. I'm the type of owner that has 8 litter boxes and scoops them every 2 days...and I just can't keep up anymore

The last three kittens I adopted, about 1.5 years ago, are three sisters and I am looking to find them a good home. Please see picture below - aren't her toes the cutest? This is one of the sisters - the second one looks just like her but fatter, and the third sister is a lighter tabby with some orange spots. Their names are Persephone, Aphrodite, and Athena.

They are spayed, but are not up-to-date on their shots since they are 100% indoor cats. They are a bit on the shy side, but extremely loving when comfortable. They have the most adorable high pitched meows! I know they are disease-free, I watched them being born and took them home once they were old enough to leave their mother! I considered just letting them live both inside and outside to keep them fed and myself sane, but I am too close to a major road and do not want anything to happen to them! I don't know what else to do at this point. I will not take them to the shelter...

I am not looking for vet references, but I AM looking for a person that will allow me to see where the kitties will live, and maybe visit once in a while?
In return, I will help with providing high-quality food, toys, etc for a mutually-agreed upon period of time. I know taking care of pets is not the cheapest proposition, but I am willing to pitch in!

Please let me know if you are even remotely interested. I will drive the kitties to you - and I will drive FAR. I will do anything for my darlings to have a good home. I just need some help from a fellow feline fan.

Oh my, this cat is a beauty. I hope you find the three a good place to stay. It sounds like you have your hands full right now and I wish and your husband the best.

The love you have for your kitties is so evident. I too would drive as far as I could to ensure my little ones a good home.

I have 11 and it is hard. I know how you feel.

Please know I will keep you in my thoughts during this unsure time. I wish I could take them. I truly do.

God bless.

Similar thing is happening with me and Mojito, the stray I found in my car. This lady fell in love with him at the cat show. I was planning on holding on to him, but Mom has been on my case lately about the cats having a bad effect on her allergies and immune system (she has this weird immune system disorder called Hashimoto's). Also, since Mojito is too wild for the house by my family's standards (he jumps on everything no matter how many times and ways you try to stop him) he either gets stuck in the garage or in extreme temperatures has to stay in the bathroom. Occasionally, I get to spend nap time with him locked in my bedroom.

I was going to try to work a solution out with the cats for a few more months before letting Mojito go with this lady, but as soon as my mom found out the lady was interested in him, she wanted to let the lady have him as soon as possible. I was mad at my mom because not only did she try to give him away without me deciding first (she was going to let the lady take him home that day, but thank goodness the lady said she couldn't do it right away) she started texting people that she found Mojito a home. I hadn't even made up my mind! I noticed when during the car ride home, I read some of the incoming texts (she was taking her turn driving) and took the initiative to text back myself saying that I hadn't made up my mind. I told her it's like place a child (or at least in mojito's case, foster child) in a home. I needed at least a few days to think about it.

Thankfully, it'll be a few weeks before she'll be able to get him, but I still think everyday about if I am doing the cat a favor by letting him go to a new home. The good part is that he'll get to run around a cat fenced yard and have the company of other cats.

Edit: After I hit post, it occurred to me that maybe if you can afford it, a cat show would be a great place to find a home for your cats. They would get lots of exposure and maybe a visitor or a fellow exhibitor will want the cat(s).

Thank you everyone for the suggestions and the kind words! I found a home for one of them - the original owners
She is going back to her first home this Wednesday

No luck yet with the other 2. If I can't place them myself, I am thinking about finding a local no-kill pet placement agency/shelter/foster place, ask them if they can help me, and making a considerable cash donation along with each kitten. That way their shots, food, toys, etc will all be paid for for at least a couple of months - the agency would just need to provide the foster home and time

If you are going to contact a no-kill, I would do it ASAP, kitten season has already started and no-kill shelters are often already full, and moreso the further through May/June

Maybe you could call & ask the local vets if you could put a card up. Sometimes, a person goes there & gets bad news & has to go home with an empty carrier. And even though their heart is breaking and it hurts so badly, what the cure is, is another cat to fill the cat-shaped hole in their heart.
You are dealing with so much, esp. with an ill husband; I hope that maybe even one of his healthcare providers knows of someone who could help.Someone who would benefit from helping you & your kits out as much as it is helping you.
Sending mega prayers and vibes that you get the other 2 girls placed very soon
