hello!!! as many of you know I have 2 litters of kittens
one is a foster and one was my own accident.

My accident litter is Meatloaf and her 3 sons Zeus, Kitten 1 and Gray Kitten. (great names huh)
My foster litter is Big Momma and her 2 sets of twins Luna and Phoebe, Erebos and Spot.

Meatloaf's following are 3 weeks old as of April 11th, Big Momma's are 3 weeks old as of yesterday!

Babies are movin around, walking all over the place. We have to be careful where we step because sometimes they follow their moms out into the hall way!!

I do have a question about Meatloaf's behavior..
The past few days she has been excessively grumpy and hungry. She eats everything and is constantly crying for more food. She's also been hissing and picking fights with all the other cats in the house, even the babies' daddy. She doesn't even share her food or water with him anymore. She ADORES all the kittens however. She often brings Big Momma's group to her nest and she licks them, cleans them, lets them nurse, and all 7 kittens follow her around the house. (well by house I mean my bedroom and the hallway because by the time they get to the hallway they're usually really tired and go to sleep, LOL.)

Big Momma loves her babies but she's kind of a party mom.. she feeds them, bathes them, then leaves them. That's when Meatloaf goes and gets them.

The babies are so cute. When they see me, they all start meowing loudly and crawling toward me and then I have kitty klutter all over the place. SO CUTE! I LOVE KITTENS!

They're starting to make cute poops now. Should I start trying to potty train them or is it too early? Also what about teething? They're starting to get teeth in and it must be uncomfortable.

Anywayzzz... on to the pictures!!!

The kittens are very cute. And I enjoyed the story.

You're spaying Meatloaf as soon as they are weaned, right? And I assume the rescue will see to it that Big Momma, the foster is spayed soon also?

Both those mother cats can go into heat at any time.

By now hopefully you have neutered the male responsible for Meatloaf's litter, but do not let them outside!

Yes, I got the male neutered as well as a neighborhood stray. I originally had an appointment for Meatloaf and Blackie (dad) but he managed to shag her at one point. By the time I realized she was pregnant, I could feel the babies moving and squirming. I wouldn't have felt like it would have been humane to euthanize them.

I have an appointment for 5 cats on June 1st and the rest of them on July 1st.

Haven't decided which cats to take on which date. I was thinking maybe the moms (on June 1st both litters will be 9 weeks old, hopefully weaned) and the females. Then take all of the boys in July (by then I think their little nuggets will have dropped. hehe)

But I have decided on a name for the orange one with the white face.. Skewch! named after our very own Skewch! because she is such a sweet person, and I can already see myself yelling "SKEWCHIKINS!!!"

is it normal for the dad to be mean to his babies??

he growls and hisses at the kittens and just now, one of the kittens was walking toward him and he hit it with his paw so hard it flung the poor baby. is this normal??

I smacked him on the ass and threw him out of the room..

A male cat doesn't care if they are his babies or not. His reaction, while not welcome, is normal. Keep him away from the kittens, but please don't hit him again.

You should never ever strike any animal.

Instead distract him with play or grooming, and keep the kittens away from him until he gets more used to them.

You might invest in a few feliway plug in diffusers, they would help a lot with territorial feelings and the stress the kittens may be causing him.

Ya, males tend to be pretty territorial, and he won't know that they're his kittens...
It's probably best to keep him separate from your babies.
i guess it seems like Meatloaf was a "born-to be" mother
As long as foster mommy is alright with her babies being with Meaty, it's fine

By the way, ADORABLE little guys

For the appts, definatly get the mommies done, and either all the girls or all the boys done

more pictures!!!!

I have a ton... here are just a few.

Kittens are now at the fun stage. Weaning and catbox training is starting, they run and play everywhere, they're starting to go out on the porch (supervised at all times) and mommy is starting to experience kitten-separation syndrome. She cries when they don't come to suckle, or come to the nest, or follow her.

they're eating canned food and some kitten kibble, but still sneak in some suckles here and there.
they're starting to use our cat tree, and they sleep in the bed with me at night. last night I rolled over to face the wall and there was a kitten on my pillow staring at me. like this -->

__,,,(^o w o^),,,__

anyways, here are the pictures!!!!!!!!!!!
