Whenever I put little Kia to bed in her room( She has her own room for the night so she isn't meowing at everyones doors all night), she puts up such a fuss...I mean such a fuss!
This is how every night goes

When she hears me comingto get her for bed, she runs away under a bed or something.
Once I finally get her out and to her room, I put her on the floor, and pet her a little, but as soon as I get up to leave, she wails!
I give her a kiss, and start to walk away, but she chases me, and clings to my leg with her her claws, meowing really loudly.
I pick her up and cuddle her, take her for a little walk outside her room trying to calm her, but as soon as I start towards the room she starts crying again, and struggling. She won't even face her room!
I try to get her in her room, but she clings onto my pants, and literally climbs up them to try to get me to stay! I eventually have to make a run for it...
Then she cries at the door for 15 minutes until she falls asleep in her bed...

Do any of your kitties have a hard time going to bed too?

I feel so horrible

Some researchers say that the cat/human bond is a replacement of the kitten/mother bond. When you put her alone in a room, her "mother" is "abandoning" her all over again!

Of course, it's easy to anthropomorphize too much.

My cats sleep with me, so I don't have this problem. It must be very hard for Kia to be left alone like that.

How old is she? How much is she alone during the day?

Perhaps if you spend more time with her before bed time, she will feel more secure. Be sure to give her plenty of Interactive Game time, and cuddles and attention.

And install a feliway plug in diffuser in her room.

Why does she have to be in there at night?

It sounds like little Kia might need a good session of playtime before bed! I try to have at least a good half hour of play with Holland pretty close to bedtime, and she does great. But she sleeps in my room if she wants, so that may make a difference?

How many cats do you have? Is there some reason (other than the meowing) why she can't sleep in your room? It just sounds like the poor girl is lonely.

My kitties stay out in the house at night. They aren't allowed to sleep in anyone's bedroom. If I could I'd have them sleep with me...hubby doesn't want them too though. They are usually fine after a few minutes of wailing at my door. Then they just take to taunting the dog.
He sleeps in a kennel downstairs and they walk around his cage and sleep on his pillow.

Is there some way to make it special for her? Put her to bed with a dish of canned food or a handful of yummy treats, perhaps?

She's nearly 4 years old now...I'm not home during the day, but Dave is, and she sleeps on his lap for an hour before her bed time while he watches the news, so she does get a lot of attention, I think she just hates being alone after

I would let her sleep with me, but I have my hamster in my room, and I'm a little scared she may get too tempted...of course there's a lid on the cage, but it's not impossible to knock off...and if I close my door, she cries and scratches the door all night long...
I love her so much...the last couple nights, she's actually been putting herself to bed
it's really sweet actually...I'm looking for her everywhere, and I find her curled up in her bed, "smiling"(in her kitty way) up at me
