I put up bird feeders to both assist the local avian population and to entertain my gang. Of course, the local squirrels have to get into the act.

I had put some seed on the front porch and this little black squirrel - looked to be half-grown - decided she was going to chow down. She was really cute. Had a white tuft on her tail and a white spot on her back. I have never seen that before.

Anyway... the boys were really enjoying the floor ... er ... porch show.

And the little visitor/freeloader!

(((Looks like I need to clean the storm door, eh?))))

She is so cute!! And the boys watching her are just priceless. Holland was quite enraptured by a squirrel this morning too.
Though I've never seen a black squirrel around these parts - they're mostly gray.

Aw, that's cute. I love how they're all sitting there in a row, watching so intently.

The only place we ever saw black squirrels was up at Niagara-on-the-Lake. I'm sure they're all over the place, but we've never seen them anyplace else.

All SIX were squished into the door for a bit with Archie running back and forth between the door and the windor perch. Tex was so excited he was quivering!! And quietly chattering to himself... almost under his breath.

And it's only one squirrel!
Wonder what the reaction would be if the seeds attracted more visitors

We also had mourning doves and one very noisy and very cute white-breasted nuthatch take advantage of the seed. I just didn't take pics!

OMG I can picture it! So cute....wish I had been there to see that. Its one of my favorite things, watching cats get all excited over animals outside.
