Paws & Claws question #1

Thread Starter
Yesterday we were going through our waiting list calling people to let them know we have room for their cat. I have noticed, in the 8 years I have been at the shelter, a decrease in the number of declawed cats, but not a decrease in the number of people looking for declawed cats. So this got me wondering why? So I am putting up a poll. (please don't turn this into a debate about if cats should be declawed or not. We all know that this forum is against declawing.)

I voted for #2. I have friends who would NEVER put a cat through a declawing procedure but they will only adopt declawed cats from local shelters.

My vet says the number of people calling to ask about declawing is not down, yet we did see a decrease in the shelter also over the last year or so, I can only guess that more people are keeping them.

Like Mystik Spiral I know lots of people who won't declaw a cat but still want a declaw so adopt
