I got a call at work from the shift scheduler and was asked if I wanted to change my shift for today only... 5-1:30.... I said YES..

So now I got up at 3:30am, trying to wake up so I could go to work.

What was I thinking??????

LOL! I think that every time I make an "early" morning appointment. My early is much later than your early, though!

I hear you. I used to work a 7-day swing-shift schedule and there times when I had to go into work at 3:00 in the morning and work a 12-hour day. Which meant that I had to get up at 1:00. Not fun at all.

Hope you can stay awake.

I used to get up at 4 and get to work between 5-6am. It lasted about 8 months before I crashed. Now I have a hard time getting up by 6:30

Well, I made it through the day... Laid down for awhile after I got home. Before I left, they called and asked if I wanted to work 6-2:30 for about a week or so.... I said..........................................................NO!!!! It was weird having my lunch at 9am!

You wanna know something sad? I used to get up at 5:00 to catch the bus downtown, workout at the Y, shower, and be at work downtown by 7:30. When I decided to get a bike, I'd get up at 5:30, ride my bike the 12 miles to work, then shower at the Y to be at work by 7:30. Oh, my younger and healthier days...

I've worked 6 - 2:30 for many years so you do get used to it. Plus, it's really nice to be all through with work in the early afternoon, especially in the summer.

One thing that I don't understand is why you had lunch at 9 a.m.
We have our lunch break at 11:30.

I worked 6 am to 2 pm for a year. I was so glad when I was able to bid back onto second shift. Getting up at 4:30am was not my thing! I have to admit, it was nice getting off at 2 though- made my Friday feel almost like a third day off

In California, you cannot go over 4 hrs before a lunch break. I started at 5am, had my first break at 7am, lunch at 9am and final break at 11:30. I was off by 1:30.
