NHL playoffs begin Wednesday. My Red Wings may not win the Cup this year, but I guarantee that the road to Lord Stanley's Cup will go through the Motor City.

Since the Olympic break the Wings are healthy and have been the hottest team in the NHL. They went from being out of the playoffs to locking up the fifth seed.

Round One: Wings in five over Phoenix.

RED WINGS S.... oh yeah, family site...STINK!

We're in the playoffs and facing the Sharks. Series was split during regular season and we took the last 2 games. I would love to say that I have full confidence in my boys, but.... young team, 1st year coach.
We seem to do better when there isn't any pressure on us than when we're in the clutch, but we sure do have some clutch players - Foote, Hejduk, Yelle, and Stasny was 1st line in the Olympics. So, could go either way. I hope.

The series against the Sharks should be interesting. I hope we can pull it off!

My favorite Stanley Cup memory is when the Avs won in 1996. My brother and I had season tickets for Rockies baseball, and on the night the Avs beat the Panthers in triple-overtime, my sister and I "went" to the baseball game. We got to the stadium early and went to the Coors Field restaurant/brewery for some munchies and to watch the Avs. We had nearly front row seats to the big screen where they were showing the hockey game, and got so caught up in it we didn't see one pitch of the Rockies game!
Downtown Denver was insane that night...

No hockey fan here but hoping for the Senators to win...and that is simply because I knew Cory Clouston when he was just a little kid. I am betting that his mom and dad are pretty happy right now
